This is a not a question of what is better. Quite frankly, no one cares and that argument is just tired out. This is a question as to who is actually picking sides here....

There is a thread floating around about why PC gamers, hate Console gamers. When reading through it, I felt like a lot of people claim to own both and do not identify as merely one side. I hate to make assumptions off guess data, so here is a poll to answer that popular question.

Are you really just a PC or Console gamer, or do you identify as both? Feel free to explain you choice if you like.

I like calling myself an everything gamer.

Console, handheld, pc, tablets, other mobile devices. If it has good games on it and I feel it's worth spending time and money on, I'll play it.

I also have no loyalty to any of them either. If I no longer see any advantage in sticking with a certain platform or company, I will drop it in a nanosecond.

Everything else is bullshit to me.

You know, you brought up a very fair point. I really left out mobile devices and handhelds didn't I.

Hmm, I suppose I could edit the poll... dilemma dilemma...

I prefer consoles and handhelds, but there are games on the PC that are better than their console counterparts (ex. BioShock, Battlefield 3) and some truly excellent exclusives (ex. Civilization). Not to mention, I still think it is the best place for FPS and RTS games, even I don't play those two genres often.

If the game is available on PC, that's probably where I'll buy it. I love a lot of console games though, and a few genres I love rarely show up on PCs, like JRPGs and spectacle fighters. I also love me some traditional adventure, strategy and management games which rarely show up on consoles too, though.

I guess I really like both, though I lean more towards the PC. Especially since it worked out a lot cheaper for me.

I identify as both, but don't own a console. Where's your god now?!?!?!

But seriously, I'm both. Though my console playing is mostly older generations, as I loaned my Wii to my sister.

Pc exclusively. I don't own a tv, and I'd rather not buy one just to play on a console. My PC is sufficient.

I have nothing against consoles, mind. I've owned a few in my day. Just never more than one at a time. Well, when I was really young I had a Genesis and a PS1, but then the Genesis took a shit, but other than that, One console at a time. When I switched, I sold the old console and games.

I exclusively use PCs and the occasional gadget at the moment, but I don't 'identify'. I just have the habit of buying the electronic brain that best serves my purpose. The shape and colour of the case is no concern for me.

Both. I currently have a PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP and a 3DS. For the most part I prefer to use consoles for multiplayer games and exclusives. And PC for singleplayer muliplatform games and emulation.

I favor PC now, but I own an Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, PS Vita, 3DS, and there are still older consoles in the apartment too.

Lately I've been getting the most use out of the 3DS, PSP, and PC (I've mostly been playing Kingdom Hearts games lately). I tend to play my PS2 games on my PC instead now though. A few graphical glitches here and there are worth the vastly higher resolution compared to what my PS2 would be outputting on an HD TV.

I mostly play on consoles and handhelds when travelling . I will only play indie games on PC . I'm not tech savvy and PC is too much work .

I however don't ever call myself a gamer . Too much bad connotations with that word, i don't want to be associated with gaming ( and to a greater extent nerd/geek )culture . So fuck being gamer,i'm a gaming connoiseur .

I'm on a whole 'nother level.

I enjoy my DS, PS3, and PC all the same.

My PS3 has been gathering dust until I bought GTA 5 yesterday. I have 2-5 hour breaks at college so I usually end up playing pokemon or some PC game for that long wait. So I play all equally.

Mostly a PC gamer. If a game is out on both PCs and consoles, I'll almost always get it on PC unless I want it for local multiplayer (such as FIFA, or whatever). Although I have been getting a decent amount of use out of my Vita recently.

So yeah, put me down as a PC gamer who owns consoles, I suppose.

I'm primarily a PC gamer, but I go in and out of periods where I'm either playing lots of console or lots of handheld games. It really just depends on what game I feel like playing. On consoles, I mostly play games that I can't get on PC, or games with really good local multiplayer.

The underdog. I own and enjoy them all so if people are ripping on one for false reasons I'll defend it. So I don't know if that qualifies as the one I'm defending, both or neither.

I don't identify myself by platform, especially with the rising irrelevances because of ports. If you share a majority of the games why does it matter what system you play on? I never think nor care about what group I belong to. If I do identify myself as one I feel like I have deal with those stupid ideals of a true PC/Console gamer. Like when people call themselves a hardcore gamer and you have to answer a survey of what games you played, how long you play, you only qualify if you beat games on the highest difficulty etc.

I don't build my own rig and don't care about my gamerscore. So I guess I'm neither, but that doesn't get in the way of me enjoying games.

For the past several years I've been PC only. However, for a long time, I had and played a PS2 as well, mostly because my PC had broken during those years and it was too expensive to get another. When I did get a new PC, the PS2 began its long period of dust collecting. So I'd say PC only would be the accurate term for me.

I prefer my games on PC anytime I can get them. Now that I have a Razer edge I can even play PC games on a handheld and Im even more curious how Project shield will change things for the handheld/PC market. PC is just my personal preference due to the high amounts of customization they have.

That said, I still own consoles. In the case of my xbox 360 and PS3 Im not really sure they were worth the price though. In hindsight I just didnt end up buying enough exclusives to make them seem worthwhile. Actually the "console" I play most is my PS Vita

Certainly both.

I grew up on consoles and was exclusive to them till around 17 maybe. Then I got my first PC game, Neverwinter Nights, and it pretty much taught me the basics.

Fast forward 9 years and I still play my PS3 a lot, but I have a large number of PC games. I know my way around an ini file, and can troubleshoot most issues I run into.

And I still love controllers.

Consoles (and handhelds because they're pretty much portable consoles + screen) only, for me. Admittedly, before joining this site, I never really associated PCs with gaming outside of MMOs and those little card games that come with them, like Solitaire.

OK, I obviously have a PC. I also have a PS3, Vita. My time gaming is divided between them like this: 35% for PC(oldies and DOTA 2), 45% for PS3 (everything that is not PSV exclusive and/or PSOne classic), 20% for the Vita (with P4G and Virtues Last Reward done, I play mostly old PSOne games).
