I play both. I enjoy both, for differing reasons and have no issues with either side, just the folks who think they're better than everyone else because of the size of their GPU/RAM
You might want to check out emulating, tablets tend to have beefier innards than your average phone these days, so they can run higher quality games. PS1, GBA, even DS era games (if you can find a good program for it, anyway). Those older consoles had absolutely shitloads of great games, and they're *so old* that they don't take much processing power to run. I do also own a tablet and I have dabbled in some games, but those turned out to be pretty disappointing. Some had really amazing graphics (for a portable device), but the controls on a touchscreen are just too clumsy. It's not my cup of tea.
