Gray, like yin and yang their must be darkness and light in the presence of well being.

Edit: there are always side effects in your actions, if you choose darkness then their are consequences to go with it as there are limitations to the choice of light.

But I'd want powers from both dark and light.

That's what I consider grey powers to be. For example, ability to heal on one hand, ability to fry the pathetic moral who dared to challenge you with your lightning of evilness on the other.

Which side is the mind trick on? The good guys use it a lot, but it still seems shady...

Good question. Let's call it grey for now. Not clearly good, but still better than just killing the poor guard.

I prefer balance. I would go with gray. I will take the logic from insight from "light" and raw power from "dark" and go about my day.

I'm not a fan of ULTIMATE GOOD versus ULTIMATE EVIL morality systems so I suppose I'd end up in "gray" by default

Both have obvious weaknesses is the main reason.

I'd argue neither truly exists.

Light if it's the "Burn in Sacred Fire!" type of light. I like the idea of burning my enemy to near death, then healing them up so I can burn them again. Also I could 1-shot zombies without using my phoenix downs.

They are just philosophies and ideologies. They exist just as much as any religion or moral code.

Gray, just because I would hate to have dark or light then come to a situation where I would need the other.
Most characters I think up have gray abilities (Like my angel/demon hybrid avatar), or dark powers but light morality.

I chose dark. I'm not saying i'd use them to be the bad guy BUT i'd like to know I could unleash a fist full of face melting if the time called for it. So dark powers used for what I deem proper and since im a pretty nice guy I don't think it would go TOO badly.
