Well at the idea itself I don't really have anything against. It's just if they introduced it as an official method of teaching, there'd be lots and lots and lots of students going there not with the intent of learning it and taking a mature stance, but to just watch people fuck. And that's not the idea here is it

Oh wow... Now this is something... I really dont know what to thing I could thing of few plus and minuses points in this case. But one thing really dissapointed me, I already saw myself making joke how it would be to concentrate on the lesson (Oh forgive me for my perverseness) but when I read "BSDM"... No thanks. But this is definitly intersting I remember we had some "examples" in our lessons too it was porn though I think LIVE might be better because you can ask questions and see it with your own eyes plus chances of fake orgasm are smaller. Now execuse me I am going to think of awkard sexual jokes I could make based on this!

Well they clearly took it in an academical light, and they WERE there to learn about sex and fetishes. They could of just been watching a clip from a porno, the only difference being that they could actually ask questions.

"The course's professor on Wednesday acknowledged some initial hesitation, but said student feedback was "uniformly positive.""

I laughed my arse off on that part. As if the average horn-dog university student would object to a spectacle of that calibre.

Housemate: So what'd you get up to today Bob?

Bob: Watched a chick get penetrated in my Human Sexuality class. Pretty cool.

Housemate: Is it too late to join?

All I can say is, as unconventional as that was, if people are shouting controversy...

Everyone consented, everyone is of legal age, and it was completely optional. Don't be a prude.

ok... say what you want, disguise it however you want call it research, call it "GROUND BREAKING ADVANCESS IN PSICOLOGY" or "THE MOST AWESOME CLASS ANYONE HAS EVER HAD!!"

but all i see is a bunch of horny 18 year old sexually inexperienced (or not) looking at live porn in their "class"

i dont think its wrong, but they try to "legitimize" what they did, i mean come on! the girl herself admitted that she got off by being watched

they shouldnt get in trouble, but trying to "rationalize" it is, in my opinion, wrong! after all, SEX is meant as a distraction, an enjoyment of ones body, to put it roughly, its about getting of in the things you like!!, "we wanted to prove that female orgasm is real" haha!, yeah right, she wanted to get off, thats all...

and THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! at the end they did said it was going to get graphic and they gave everybodu ample time to leave if they didnt wanted to watch.

If you are teachings adults about sex, showing them what it's like seem reasonable.

The only issue you might have is about what types of sex you show...sexuality is a wide-ranging field, and you should avoid sticking to the "normal" ideas about it if you are to truly to explain it.
to be fair they did said "we wanted to prove that woman can also achieve orgasm" because some guys thought orgasm in women didnt existed, so what better proof than actually showing them how it looks like.

Not for education.

But for a good lesson totally!
you do realize it was a class on human sexuality, right? i can't say it's something i'd be comfortable seeing in a classroom, but then again i would probably never take a class on sexuality in the first place.

my vote: uncomfortable, but relevant for the subject at hand.

That is how I feel, and my ex-fiance's obsession with BDSM just made my skin crawl...

I will never be one to experience BDSM, but if it was for my Human Sexuality class, of course I would have attended, just to see if I could fathom what these people are truly thinking... And I would never turn down a demonstration, because as has already been said

Standards: Will they ever stop falling?

Apparently, no.

How does this lower standards? In my opinion this is a advancement in teaching sexuality by making sex much less tabu. I can see how people can see controversy in this but i believe someday this will be common.

It did seem pretty unnecessary, but there's nothing to really argue against it.
Weird.

It's a lowering of standards because it's doing exactly what you said - making sex more commonplace and sneering at the more modest about it.

Quite frankly, sex belongs in the bedroom, and that standard (which isn't really that high) has been upheld well until the last half-century. Live sex performances is nothing but pushing the envelope as far as they can.

Plus, it's opening up a can of worms... Trudeau (Prime Minister of Canada a while ago) declared that the state had no place in the population's bedroom... now that sex is LEAVING the bedroom, will this result in more "fun" little exercises in sexualities, bizarre laws and public hysteria over said laws? (Answer: Yes it will.)

I don't see a problem, they're all over the age of 18 and while the practice may seem a bit disturbing I don't see how it's much different to porn (which undoubtedly all of them have seen). Also I DEMAND PICS :D
