I got it and finished it.
It was pretty disappointing. I still like it better than Dead Money, but it both to live up to the standard set by Honest Hearts and Old World blues, and fails to live up to my expectations for the showcased encounter. It wasn't bad. Things like linearity don't bother me. A lot of the notes and logs you find in The Divide are really interesting. There are also some collectibles, if you're into that sort of thing. But I was expecting this to be a more personal story. It was a little bit, but not in some profound way.

Also, the rocket launcher looks all kinds of powerful. might be able to take on the deathclaw prominatory now ^_^
The Red Glare isn't that powerful against those Deathclaws. (I learned this the hard way...) :/

It's far more effective (and funnier) to use Christine's sniper. :D

Although I mostly agree with you (I loved Dead Money), I was still satisfied with Lonesome Road

Yes, the personal story with Ulysses could have been expanded but I think what the problem (for me at least), was that he spoke in metaphors too much and never really gave a solid, straight answer (I haven't spoken to him completely yet though). From what I understand, the Courier was delivering a package across the Divide that triggered the warheads underneath and destroyed almost all of the Divide. Ulysses saw this and was amazed at the power and saw it as an opportunity to destroy the NCR and Legion.

It could have been better, but yeah it wasn't personal enough, I guess Obsidian just didn't want to make the story fo the Courier set in stone. However, I loved how ED-E was expanded on and thought the side story about him was great. Especially the reference to the Fallout: New Vegas trailer, that was awesome.
