Lost Planet 3, It's not what I ecspected. I always thought the next game would take place after the last game but instead I find a prequel. For anyone who played the other Lost Planet games that means no VS, no hook ancors, no harmonizers. And then I heard they were going to make it an "action servival horror" game like Dead Space.
Lost Planet isn't servival Horror. It's Guns, Mechs, Giant Bugs, Giant Guns, Mechs, and more mechs(Mechs are half the reason I got bothe games.)
A sequel should evolve and emprove over the last game. It should take away what people don't like and add things that they want. For example In the first Lost Planet I never palyed on line but I did play the story contless times and in the game I always like keeping my VS in top shape. In LP2 you could fix your mech and make it better. LP2 also added more mechs and diffrent guns. LP2 isn't technicly Lost Planet to, it's Lost Plent Squared.
Basicly what I'm getting at is that Lost Planet emproved open it's base structure and sought to evolve. In terms of story they could have done better. I liked the diffrent factions and their motivations but at the end of the day did you really know the people you where playing as? They didn't really have names. I beleve the real problam was that they didn't have a real face. All the charactors wore masks that covered their mouths.
Also if they think make a prequle is impossiable because of the way the last game ended, like everything was all better. Let me tell you about the starwars novals (Chuboka died for CRIST SAKE)you have a story. Bring in a new atagonsit force that isn't Nevec, make them not human but inttelgent. Also, you could have a newer breed of huminod Akrid come out to help. Or make it a 3 way battle with the aliens, Akrid, and Snow Pirets.
In terms of game play and story you could still have 4 player co-p, just give the characters faces names and identaties. Make the story about them during this crazy fight for EDN III as well as the planet it self.
Add new game play mechanics, add the things players have been asking for. Go forward not back. If your going to take something out add something even better that will make the game better.
