Wow, for my first post, this got a lot more replies than I expected. Thanks!
To clarify, VS is for either Ashley or Kaiden, and Crush is for anyone not listed or unromancable, for all you Joker fans out there.

If my FemShep can at least flirt with Ashley this time, I'll be happy.
"You know Ashley I,ve found an old copy dragon age II and I thought the game had a few interesting idea for our franchise...if you know what I mean"

-

On another note it would be funny if all the people who kept complaining about the fact most Dragon Age II character are bisexual didn't complain when if some of the straight LI came out as bisexual in ME3 (but then people just seem to be pinning for Tali to engage in hot girl on girl action)
Ash and Kaidan were originally supposed to be bisexual love interests, but BioWare pulled the plug on that at the last minute (look it up on YouTube some time). Since I'm one of those players who creates a character then goes through the story through their eyes, Ashley was the best fit for my FemShep. Kaidan was... Kaidan, and Liara, while a sweet girl, was a bit too mousy for my character.

But alas, it wasn't meant to be. Not in the core game at least, and I vowed never to try fan-fiction again (don't ask...).

My main Shep: Liara. That's the one that counts for me. Their moment at the end of Lair of the Shadow Broker made me glad too.

Well, to be fair, Tali is apparently bisexual in ME2, but FemShep refuses to make the move.

Why do I say that? Well, she says the same line to initiate romance to both MaleShep and FemShep. MaleShep can make a flirty reply, but FemShep can't.

Actually so does Garrus.

So yeah - Tali and Garrus are both bi for Shepard. Same-sex-Shepard is just too dumb to notice, apparently. **sigh**

Ashley all the way. James Shepard fell in love that day when he met the sassy soldier on Eden Prime and he waited through all the events of Mass Effect 2 for the hole in his heart to be filled once more. And the only person in the galaxy who can do that for him is Ashley Williams.
So yeah after seeing her confirmed to return, I'm kind of looking forward to Mass Effect 3 like crazy. It'll be nice to finally be able to have a happy ending to this strange video game relationship of mine.

As a side note, one other of my Shepard's did romance Jack. So I'll give her a mention as well.

How about this?

I'd support an Ash/FemShep romance. Same as how I'd support a Kaidan/ManShep romance. See no reason why we can't cater to all demographics.
I mean how come the developers have no problem letting guys nail blue chicks with tentacle hair and girls nailing reptilian/bird like creatures with exoskeletons but they are so afraid of a little homosexuality?

Liara, she was the only romance option in the first game who didn't piss me off and I stayed true to her in the second one.

I have Liara for my first male Shepard, Garrus for my female Shepard, and Tali for my second male Shepard.

I stayed loyal to Liara. And I want to see how that ends. Heh.

But once ME3 is out I may try a playthrough with other options.

In ME1, I romanced Ashley, and I really liked her. I was sad that she wasn't part of my crew in the second one, and ended up hooking up with Miranda. I suppose you could call it a moment of weakness, and because it seemed like Ash wanted nothing to do with me anymore, or the fact that Miranda is pretty smokin' (dat ass...) and we were flying off on what was thought to be a suicide mission. But I've actually come to regret it, especially now that I know that Ashley will be in ME3. It kind of makes me want to replay through 2 and not hook up with anyone, just so I can hold out for Ms. Williams.

As to why I like Ashley better... I suppose she just seemed more believable and I could relate with her more as a character. Sure, she doesn't really trust other species at first, but they didn't really trust us either, and it's hard not to look out for your own if you think you're being attacked, and she came around by the end, through intelligent conversation with Shepard. She wasn't genetically engineered to be perfect, but I knew no matter what she always had my back. For awhile I kind of thought of Miranda as "big sister" watching over me and reporting in on what I was doing.

Yeah... definitely going to have to replay ME2 now so I can hold out for my special lady friend.

Liara for my official Sheperd, which is female. The male voice actor makes my skin crawl. At parts he sounds like he is literally reading words off of a page with no emotion.
However, when I found out Tali was an option in Mass Effect 2, I replayed Mass Effect as a male just to get Tali in Mass Effect 2. I think it was worth it.

Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley... *deep breath* ... Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, Ashley!

And if there's time Tali or Liara.
Of course there might be some new character that tickles my fancy, but I don't feel the need to repeat my first choice.

I had Liara for my Shepard characters. We will see how that goes now that she is the secret master information dealer person.

Single.

Because apparently male homosexuality doesn't exist in the Mass Effect universe.

Fuck you, Bioware.
How do you get from there being no available gay men who are interested in you aboard the Normandy to there being no gay males in the universe?
