Sometimes you have to lower your standards. I have this friend and she really, really wants to be a lawyer, but she doesn't have much going on upstairs (and I mean that in the nicest way). The reason she wants to be a lawyer is that "she likes to argue, and figures she'd be good at it". She's really shy and can't stand talking in front of a large group of people. She's just not suited to becoming a lawyer. Yet it's her dream. Eventually, she'll have to settle for something more realistic. I'm hoping that her dream job will change once she takes the introductory legal courses.

I've had a few dreams/goals that didn't work out because of my innate laziness. Funnily enough, my own failure left me so desperate that I turned to the subject that I only then realised I'd had a lifelong love for. So I practically fell into my dream. That's why, at the end of this semester, I'll be transferring to linguistics. Screw money; my addiction is words.
(Half-hearted) Moral of the story: Ummm...You might get lucky and fall into your dream? Maybe?
