Lurking = reconnasaince.

It's not weird...it's a way of life :]
Hells, yeah! :D I like the way you think.

Topic wise: I lurked for over a year, before I started posting on this forum. I don't see anything wrong with it. It is a good way of sizing up the rest of the posters.

I'd prefer a lurker to a kid that joins and starts posting the first day he comes to this site. The lurker will learn the ways of this forum without making more work for the mods, the kid that jumps right in will be one of those idiots that posts "FIRST!!!" On the zero punctuation threads the second they come out.

I lurked a lot when I first started watching ZP and saw the 'Hot Topics' bar next to the video player. It's a good way to actually tell what a site's like, and this one is good :)

Lurking does no harm. It never hurts to keep your opinions to yourself.

Lurking can be fun, just reading, brousing, getting the feel before making a comment

If more people lurked, there would probably be less flamewars

I'm pretty much still a lurker, at least when I compare my postcount to alot of other people on here. I just read the forum for about a year before joining and now after a year as a member I'm still not that frequent a poster.

Lurkers? I hate them with passion! I hunt them down wherever I go and kill them with fire!

Wait... You weren't talking about Lurkers from Gothic 3? (Yea I played that.)

Forum lurkers are fine. The Internet would be a much better place if people lurked more.

Yea, but thats just cos youre sexy like that. I know, i make a lot of nonsense replys. Then again i think people pay too much attention to post count.
Love you, too.

I agree with you as well- I'd rather have a person with one post and an intelligent, well thought out point than someone with 15k posts and "this."

Content is far more important than number.

I don't have a problem with them since it's a good way to learn about the forum. Hell, don't let that joined date fool you; I lurked here for over a year before signing up.

I think it would be better if they took an active part in the discussion, after all, the more the merrier.

Also, Zetsubuo, I see you are a fan of princess mononoke?

I do a fair bit of lurking. I don't have strong feelings either way, but lurking for a while can ensure people understand how the forum works. A little lurking might prevent people from starting repeat threads or protect them from those who make it their job to police spelling and grammar.

Lurkers are fine because that means, by the time they do post, they won't make dumb mistakes. They get to know the feel of the forums before they start typing.

I used to be a lurker, like every single poster in this thread.
I knew a lot of you guys before I even got an account

Well I was a lurker for about 3 months. I guess I just wanted to understand the general opinions on this forum before i started posting.

Look at my post count, then look at my join date... Need I say more?
(to be honest I didn't visit the site for a month once)
