These are definitely the worst games ever made. Ghostrider sucked. Eragon Sucked. Spiderman, Xmen, The Mummy, you name it. SO why keep them?

Huge Money? People spend more money on gas to take them back. And i've seen more use out of a made from Movie game as a frisbee rather than the actual play.
They would make more money if they hired a professional GAME screenwriter instead of a professional MOVIE screenwriter.
And If they actually followed the story of the movie instead of all the added on BS, they could make a ton of more inflow.

If people return them, the company loses nothing. As long as the distributors pay them to ship the game, they'll make money.

And I guess that gives a small profit to the economy, due to more purchase of water and such and such.

I don't think most gamers would actually buy them. My guess would be that they turn a profit by preying on the oblivious parents of gamers: "Little Timmy's birthday is coming up... I know he loves video games, and he loved Superman the movie, I'll get him the game based on the movie! I know he'll love it!"... And thusly poor little Timmy was screwed out of a decent birthday present by money grubbing executives.

King Kong was pretty good, I thought. They don't need to stop making movie games, they just need to put more effort into them. And for the love of god, stop double-posting!
