This is the case for Mass Effect 2.

Well I hate playing with over 10 people on the opposite side having over 100 enemies is too much.

So ME2
I'm trying to imagine the campers on MW2 playing this game. It's just a giant freaking standoff were each side refuses to move up because they want to get a 100 kill spree...

I want to see the looks on their faces when they realize the airstrikes come from moving up and destroying the AAA, not some magical device that appears in your hands because you took down five people. :p

I have a PS3 and a XBOX 360, I've got info or played beta's of both games but...I gotta go with Mass Effect 2 I mean hell I'm playing the first one right now just to get me save file ready. I've played MAG and it's a good game with alot of good ideas but if it's between them both...gotta go with Mass Effect 2.

Mass Effect is a sure thing, you know it will be good, might not be great, but will definitely not suck.

As for MAG I am not really sure, I've played the beta and didn't find it that great, but then again we were limited to small teams and couldn't experience the 128vs128 matches.

I would just wait 2-3 days after launch of both and check some reviews, and in case they get similar values or appreciation, get MAG, at least its something new, not just another game to bridge the first and third games of a trilogy.

They're both cool, but I'd get Mass Effect 2. Tired of shooting stuff from a first person perspective. I want some narrative.

Mass effect 2 by a landslide, multiplayer will lose its charm in MAG. Mass Effect 2 has a long campaign and you can play it over four times if you pick different moral decisions. Also have you played Mass Effect 1? I hear that if you've played it and saved your data then you can continue from that onto ME2.

i finished mass effect 2, it took about 30hrs to do all side quests with some replay on crucial points. What i am saying is that if you consider longetivity, buy MAG. It's a multiplayer game, entertains you longer. Not because its a better game.

You beat a game that isn't even out yet? wat

I'd honestly say Mass Effect 2. I still play through Mass Effect, although the added fact that save files carry over helps that, but I probably would still be playing it anyway.

It also comes down to what you like better. Mass Effect 2 is an RPG first and foremost, I won't expect it's combat to be any better than the first until I do play it, and the first's is rather bland. If you prefer a shooting game, get MAG. If you prefer an RPG with an awesome storyline, get Mass Effect 2.

Depends if you like online more than single player. However I'd get mass effect 2 if I were you.

Well you can either go with the Bioware fanboys which seem to have overpopulated this thread OR, you can go with the PS3 fanboys of which there aren't enough off. The best option is to play demos of both and choose yourself, surely you don't have to get them on the release dates?

As for my opinion:

It is entirely possible to not be a fanboy OR girl and have an opinion.

Mass Effect 2, less 12 year olds screaming in your ear...
I bought a PS3 recently and haven't had this happen yet.
The only way to not have kids screaming in your ear is if you don't play "The next Halo 3"... or you don't own a 360. I have both and I tend to play the PS3 more than I do the 360.

OT: I picked MAG because I'm going to get it the day it comes out. 256 people, how is this not awesome!?

Yeah I was relating to most of the people who either don't give reasons or give ludicrous reasons like(cant' be bothered to quote): "Online play gets boring, but with ME2 you can play through the campaign 4 times with different moral choices."
C'mon how can you play through the same (and if its like ME1) really long SP 4 times?
Even tho ME was really good I couldn't face playing it more than one time let alone 4.
