I'm currently playing a black/blue zombies deck which has the potential to more than triple the number of zombies I have on the field.

And make them all fly.

And hexproof.

But that's next to nothing compared to my other pure black deck, where I can have 7/7 to 10/10s out on the second turn. Which prevent you from attacking. And I can summon them from the graveyard again if you kill them. And again, and again, and again...

So yeah, black.

EDIT: I have Slivers deck which has all colors though. I can tap the Slivers for mana of any color (NOT colorless mana mind!) to get [mtg_card=Progenitus] out. Not that I need it though, seeing as my Slivers can get hexproof, haste and flying, loop mana to draw and place all the creatures in my deck on the battlefield. Also, total swing damage is 2048.

What's your life total again?

Used to play a great red/black deck with Sarkhan the Mad and a lot of haste/discard creatures. Cast monster, attack, 2nd main turn turn it into 5/5 dragon. 8D

Black Magic!

I really enjoy the 4th wall mechanics you can employ, and the darker roll play you experience.

I usually enjoy spicing up black with blue or white most of the time. Sometimes green as well.

Never use red magic tho, don't know why!

I havent played in a few years but I used to play all of the colours quite regularly it just made things more interesting for me as well as mixed colour decks as well, I had quite a lot of success with a green/black/blue/white deck in sealed last time I played only lost one match and one round (got mana screwed that game).

Originally when I first started playing though i used to play Black because Necropotence, Hymn to Tourach, Dark ritual and Mind Twist were awesome.

So whats you're guys' preferred color to play with, if you had to choose just one? Just trying to get a sense of the Escapists color preference. And if you don't play magic, you could take the quiz for it they have on the escapist and post that answer! And if you really dig magic you should post a more detailed description of your preference in the section below, using your fingers to type! And if you're still reading this, stop!

I'm white mostly.
I play blue control, because having friends is overrated.
I play complete white removal. All my other cards have protection from something or are buffs. My friends hate me. I'm sorry I like O-rings

Exactly! It's not not enough that you win the game. You have to make sure that the other person has a miserable time playing you.

In the quiz I got Blue, which up until the recent AvR release I'd say is pretty consistent. Blue in AvR just seems so weak now, with only a few cards working well in decks other than Limited, and most new Blue seems geared towards a specific strategy that just seems needlessly complicated. Again though, before AvR Blue was a color I liked, mostly Izzet (Blue/Red) or Dimir (Blue/Black), and M13 appears to be bringing back a more fun and practicle use of Blue. I also liked playing Orzhov (White/Black), Rakdos (Black/Red) and just plain mono-Black, which has gotten extremely more viable as of late. It doesn't always win, but I find any Black variation to be at least fun to use.

Nothing quite like making your opponent rage out with a good blue deck.

Yeah i got 1Blue and 1X mana open and 4 cards in hand, you sure you want to cast that titan?

You didn't cast it for fear of mana leak fantastic. Was a total bluff i got a hand full of 4 drops.

I prefer blue. I love making my opponents paranoid. I can't count the number of times I've smacked my opponent around purely on bluffs. It helps that blue, I feel, tends to have the most variety.

Green is the opposite, I dislike green since 90% of mono-green decks I've seen tend to be powerful creatures with mana ramp...90%+ of them. I feel most green decks are the same and it bugs me.

Escapist says it's black. But I decided to get into the game today and bought several decks. We shall see which one I will prefer. Blue/Black is looking good though.

Green, blue or black. I like playing the slivers. Voted green.

Last I played, white was kind of broken as shit though. Still the same?

White. Been a while since I played, but if you're going to use themed fantasy creatures you may as well use the original models- holy angels.
