Blue mainly, though with a splash of black. It's more the deck itself rather than the colour for me, but control and card advantage is just excellent. Blue/black decks are the ones I'm best at building though I'd say (even though my mono-green Elf deck is a powerhouse unless it's stopped early). Favourite deck I've ever built is a blue/black Millcontrol deck. Since I only play casual and we don't use sideboards it has to have a lot of dead cards for many matchups, but they're rarely gamebreakers.

I used to have a deck built around Mycosynth Lattice and March of the Machines, but it got banned from my group. Not because it couldn't be beat, just that it was so incredibly boring to lose to. If you're not familiar with the combo, it makes everything artifacts and all artifacts creatures with power/toughness equal to converted mana cost - all lands become 0/0 creatures and die upon entering the battlefield, removing nearly all decks main mana supply forever. I meanwhile had a bunch of mana-producing artifacts (with Darksteel Ingot the main threat - a 3-mana 3/3 indestructible creature that taps for 1 mana of any colour). Very vulnerable until March of the Machines was played though, as I had no real creatures.

I don't play any more, but back in the day I was a big fan of Blue.

"I play my awesome creature of awesomeness."
"Countered."

"I target your wizard with shock."
"Redirected."

"I use my extremely expensive enchantment to..."
"Bounced."

I have a badass mono green I call "Green does everything (except direct damage)."

Basically, it has aggro, combo, mana ramp, and lifegain all rolled into one 60 card deck. Got some Baloth's for aggro, everything's beefed up by a Leyline of Vitality, so I gain life every time I play a creature, too. Several Khalni Heart Expiditions combo'd with Grazing Gladeheart for lifegain off of the mana ramp. Then we of course have the Protean Hydra who becomes basically un-killable when combo'd with the Leyline, and then you put Canopy Cover on him, and just win the game.

But yeah, I used to like blue a lot, but I'm not a big fan of counter-magic. I just feel like too much of a dick, and I can't get used to leaving 3 untapped lands every turn...

Mono Black is my favorite just because Vamp decks make my life. Deathtouch/Lifelink/Necromancy? Yes please.
Followed by that would be a blue/black. Controlling the battlefield as you wittle down your opponent.
But 5 colored EDH with my "Fuck you I'm a Dragon" deck with Scion of the Ur-Dragon as my general is extremely fun to play.

I always tried to use a split deck of Red/White. Though I always ended up having way too many cards and I never had enough low level monsters at the start to survive very long.
Really? with a red deck that's unusual. Cheep cards is sort of it's main advantage isn't it.
Yea I forgot to mention I was pretty bad at Magic. My decks consisted of WAY too many mana cards and loads of really powerful creatures, so I'd spend the first 5 turns putting down loads of mana and get one creature out just before losing.
if magic the gathering online is still up i suggest you play the free version of it(just lets you use starter decks) get good with them then put together a deck it will help you get the basics down

OT i have a few decks i play depending on what mood im in(or if a buddy needs a deck)

black/White: cleric deck

green+4 blue cards: unlimited mana deck put this together as a joke only used it once was rather funny when my buddy was facing down about 3,000,000 centaurs on turn 4

green/red: beast deck

white: soldier deck

red: goblin deck

black: card burn deck

yea i have too many card

I'd say Green. I think it's that I love Elf decks and Garruk as a Planeswalker. My favourite deck type is Naya though (R/G/W), had an Ant Queen/Mycoloth deck going on once with some Goblin fodder to feed to my big bads. So annoyed that Alara has cycled out... Loved that block.

I usually rock Esper colors, which for those who don't know is white, blue, and black. The white and blue I use for control, also the white has some life gain and decent creatures, power and ability wise, also the blue I use for draw power and countering, and finally there is black which is just damage and life loss. My #1 deck right now is an esper ally deck.

I have a few decking in various colors. #1 is Red(with a little black and green). Dragons FTW! (Dragons and Zirilan. Zirilan is awesome.)

Additionally, I've got a green elf deck that combos heritage druid with token generation, a blue deck that combines Forced Fruition with Psychic Possession, among others.

Pretty much anything but blue...

My artifact deck rocked though, no option for colourless though.

I haven't played for a few years but i won a few regional championships with a really nasty black/red/green deck i designed. It was all about destruction and pain and used a lot of early cards like Sinkhole and black lotus. The focus was to destroy land and punish my opponent for everything they did with cards like Dingus Egg and Worms of the Earth.

It would have collapsed in a heartbeat if someone used Blood Moon on me but no-one ever did. I'd have to say the pain and frustration that deck caused people make that combination my favorite.

Well... back when I did play, I played with a tri colored deck. Typically, swamps/mountains/Forests.

Typically from what I saw, Mountains allowed me to use quick momentum goblin types, Swamps acted more as my magic reserves and Forests typically held my bruiser type mobs.

But the game has changed so much and gravitated away from the casual and toward the hardcore (and back again supposedly) that I doubt my playstyle would be viable any more

Red because it has goblins and I pretty much love them to death, especially since a lot of them just always have really odd abilities.

One word: Trample.
Green for me: Big scary beasts that get bigger and scarier is awesome.
"Its diet consists of fruits, plants, small woodland animals, large woodland animals, woodlands, fruit groves, fruit farmers, and small cities."
Go go Enormous Baloth! I love that caption.

I somewhat recently got back into the game, though hardly anyone around me plays it anymore.

My main deck is a Naya deck - red, white and green. However, it is very versatile: I have elves for enhanced mana production, the greatest of which being Scuttlemutt with Bloom Tender, I can produce "weenie hordes" with Rhys and Creakwood Liege, or I can quick summon powerhouses from my deck with Mayael the Anima's ability (which I can grab with Elvish Harbingers) that include Empyrial Archangel, Doomgape, Duskdale Wurm, the afore mentioned Enormous Baloth and many, many more. Should those methods fail, I can fall back on Helix Pinnacle and just pour mana into that with multiple Bloom Tenders with Mistveil Plains being able to put cards back into my deck from the graveyard.

Unfortunately, it isn't all that complete. I'd like to get that ultimate artifact creature into my deck, the Phyrexian...something or another. A 15/15 indestructible from what I remember.
