My guess that if there's actually people left after any said apocalypse it will go back to a medieval system, men doing physical work while women tend to the homes. While if that would happen, how the people will see it is a different thing, either men will once again rule society like back in the day or women will be seen as our overlords and we men would basically be their slaves.
Depends, as the sexes are pretty much equally smart if men want they could take control unless women get better PR and convinces us to serve them
Of course it humanity gets the chance it would still evolve into a more equal society like today (yes I'm aware it's not 100% equal).

Even if women outnumbered men at the start of the apocalyptic era, I would say that the men that grouped together - maybe servicemen who survived in some bunker and became raiders - would whittle those numbers down pretty worryingly. Women are often the victims in these scenarios simply because they're a more appealing target.
I'd much rather it be females but I suspect most possibly the guy with the most guns and most willing to use them will persevere.
And while women may have an advantage by being more likely to work together I suspect they will be screwed over by trusting men who them let them down, betray them or just plain use them.
Women on their own I think would do just fine. Definitely better than just men.
PS: nuclear winter won't wipe out all life, not even all human life. Even the worse predictions (which have been mostly disputed) only forecast an extended and fierce winter, not a "Snowball Earth" where the entire planet is frozen from pole to pole with glaciers in the Sahara desert. See, as much soot a nuclear war might release into the atmosphere, far more long lasting is the greenhouse gasses that are emitted, the soot will fall relatively quickly. You'll have a very long and harsh winter (for both hemispheres) then some seriously bad global warming.

I vote males.
My reason for this is that with fewer males, the males become more important, thus leading them to be dominant.
They could however be kept as slaves (for reproduction) under female domination, but I just don't think females are evil enough to do that.. Men are.
This COULD lead to a lion pride system where you have a leading male with several females "working" and one male "dominating"..
