I absolutely hated it. Well, 99% of it. There were some cool bit pieces, but for the most part it was a typically bad Zack Snyder movie. Way too much "style", not nearly enough meaningful substance.
Something's been bugging me about several comments here, though.
>Why would Clark go to a priest for guidance?: he was raised in a conservative, Christian, Midwestern small town -- what's so hard to understand that he'd feel compelled to visit a familiar place for moral guidance? Not only that, but the producers were trying very hard to appeal to a Xtian audience. They had to throw in some kind of bait for those folks, and hamfisted analogy works every time.
>Why was Clark wandering the land?: You'd think the exposition in the movie made that pretty frickin' obvious, but Clark was trying to find an identity and a purpose for himself. Like any young man with those same thoughts and doubts, he turned to wanderlust.
>Why was Lois everywhere she needed to be at just the right moment? Why didn't Clark maneuver the big battle away to a less populated area? How were the Kryptonians able to kick Superman's ass despite only being on Earth for a few hours? How did Clark find the spaceship so easily? Why did Pa Kent sacrifice himself so needlessly? Why the fuck was Pa El riding a fucking dragon? blah blah blah et al: horrible ideas, horrible thought processes, horrible writing, horrible scripting, horrible filmmakers. That's all you need to know there.
You're welcome.
