DC for me i find it alot darker than mavel but thats just me. superman though i have pure hate for its like a 4 year designed him gahhhh
Marvel have since the beginning been more about relate-able characters with personal flaws.
DC always had the problem of their super-heroes being too perfect. The personal lives of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern etc. was always so corny and without flaws. Just like Praxiteles, DC represented the ideal, while Marvel was more like Hellenism, in that it showed mankind in all its glory, whether it was in victory or defeat.
an awkward teenager who was bullied and had to deal with typical high-school stuff like girls, class and fitting in and believe me, back then it was a revolutionary.
Mutants have always been an allegory for blacks (back then) and gays, with Magneto and his brotherhood representing the wrong response to being outcasts
Come on, a man who when angry, destroys everything around him and pushes away those who love him?
An alcoholic millionaire, a scientist with anger issues, a norse-god does not belong to this world and a married couple that is far from perfect. I am of course talking about Iron-man, The Hulk, Thor, Wasp and Ant-man. A dysfunctional family that puts aside its differences to save the world.

I am a fan of marvel and read alot about the characters (however I have trouble finding any comics). Marvel for me is just generally more fun. That being said if you look under some of the DC owned labels you find Preacher from Vertigo comics which is just awesome.
DC has Batman, which is cool, but everything else ranges from "meh" to "ungh" (though the Green Arrow seems cool, don't know too much about him but I like the concept of him ^^). Overall I like Marvel more, their heroes are cooler and work better together in the same universe. The only one who kind of runs it is Thor who should be put on bloody trial for his crimes against Norse mythology.

In DC.. Out of DC's trinity, I only really like Batman. WW and Superman...well frankly I hate both of them. Don't ask me why, I just do. I also like the new generation of Green Lantern/Flash, aka Wally West and Kyle Rayner. They had more interesting personalities than their predecessors. Or maybe it was because they had nicer looking graphics. Other than them...DC's not doing it for me.
In Marvel, I like Wolverine, Deadpool, the Avengers, the young Avengers...yeahhh i'm gonna have to go with Marvel.
