Loved Them Both, But Mass Effect 2 Took It Further, and Alot Fewer Glitches.
But Mass Effect 1 Was still a fucking great game, and i play two alot still, and I can't wait for the Third One :)
What glitches are you talking about? I have the pc version of ME1 and I heard they fixed some stuff and I didn't run into any glitches during my playthrough so I'm curious which ones your talking about. For me, ME2 had one glitch that happened repeatedly, the one where you brush up against a wall/object and start floating up in the air with no way down.

just remembered, the bridge to exogeni on feros had 1 or 2 enemies stuck under the bridge. Other than that, I can't think of any other glitches.
I Played Mass Effect 1 On The Xbox, And Was Stuck Many Times And Couldn't Move, And i have bad habbit of never saving, of course there was auto save, but it never saved me from doing 2, or 3 hours of work again, but even though that i simoly loved it.
I have never encountered any problems with Mass Effect 2, Not the thing where you floating mid air like a ballon, only thing i can remember, is that Captain Anderson body fucked up during a Dialog, but me and my friends just laughed of it. and didn't do anything besides looking stupid.
I Like Both, But Mass Effect 2 have slight edge over Mass Effect 1 In My Opinion.
But I'm Glad for you, that you had no glitches in the first one :)
To Be Honest That Have Never Happened To Me, But Looks Annoying, I was just stuck in Mass Effect 1, and couldn't walk.
But Never In Mass Effect 2

I found Mass Effect 2 to be the far superior product. The first did have a more interesting story, but all other measurable factors would go to ME 2 if you ask me.

For me it's Mass Effect 1. You can never beat the first time, off anything really. Especially the first time you are introduced to a new universe. Nothing can beat it.

Mass Effect 2 was just way too dumbed down. It was cool too play again as my Shephard, but the combat could've been basically a rail shooter for all the ways it was varied. The leveling system was a sorry, washed-up version of itself, and I still don't get why everyone had such a huge issue with the inventory. So for me, make it Mass Effect all the way.

Even though I like both of them, I will have side more with ME 1 since I liked the customization and the Mako and was a little disappointed when they took them out of ME 2. I've also put a lot more hours into ME1 than ME2.

Mass Effect 2 has the better combat by far and the companion missions are fantastic, I also like the tighter focus and the less repetitive mission variety and settings. It was just such a damned good experience.

That said I gotta go with numero uno for one simple reason: The ending!

Mass Effect 2's overall story and finale left me going 'is that all?' whereas the original game had one of the most visually spectacular and downright epic endings to any game I've ever played. Up close and personal confrontation, major decisions being made on the fly, dramatic plot revelations, and one of the coolest space battles in gaming history. All that from a third person rpg. Bloody loved it!

When Mass Effect 1 finished I felt satisfied. When Mass Effect 2 finished I felt a bit cheated.

I liked Mass Effect's ambition. I know we're fighting the reapers and their friends in both games, but there's something about finding an ancient galactic's civilization last words (before they were annihilated), and then rushing to defend the Citadel against a massive fleet of Geth, with a fuckin' epic Systems Alliance fleet coming in to save the day that just feels a whole lot more epic than building a small team of guys while crawling through the ghettos of various shitholes before taking on a single ship/base/thing.

Thats pretty hard, Mass Effect 1 definitely had the better story, but Mass Effect 2's gameplay was much better. I can't decide.

Its a hard decision to make really, ME-1 had the better plot out of the two whereas ME-2 had better gameplay
although i did like the whole idea of gathering a team of the greatest operatives in the galaxy for a suicide mission.
I would have to say 2 is my favorite only if that includes the dlc

I have more fun with 2 but I love 1 due to the fact it made me want to explore the galaxy, something I find to be a lacking quality in 2 despite all its accomplishments.

Well, only one of these two games lets me teleport around with a shotgun, so Mass Effect 2.

(I also think some of the loyalty missions are the best storytelling Bioware has ever done, but that's secondary to the ability to teleport around with a shotgun. Gotta keep your priorities straight.)
