First of all, I don't like forums or posting. Try to avoid trolling or annoying/upsetting someone.

Second, I've only finished mass effect series. I've heard of Deus Ex many years ago, but when searching for "the best sci-fi rpg" in some pages remembers Deus Ex, and tried to play. But for now, is so old and I prefer newest games.

I prefer more "into the action", but not only kill-kill-kill (one of my favorite games are The longest journey saga). But solving puzzles doesn't make me a smarter or even better person like those who says "Wii and Mario series are the better games". So on, I think avoiding shooting games or killing everything does not have to be "the best game", though.

I'm starting with Human Revolution. But if I've loose in the past or avoid till today Deus Ex 1 and stick with ME series, does make me an *sshole?

As far I've read about inspirations and history of both games, I prefer Mass Effect cause has a lot more of sci based, and some things inspired in literature or other sci-fi related stuff (like the hannar similar to those of Solarys novel, not movie).

Even all of that, I would like to mass effect have more stuff like "avoid fights with dialogue, solving puzzles, etc.", more complex weapon/add-ons/powers config, world changing, etc.

P.S. Pardon my english, I'm Mexican and didn't practiced long ago.

Ignoring the respective qualities of both games, get Mass Effect 2. It's cheaper and will last you for quite a while. Once you're done with that, Human Revolution will have dropped in price.

Mass Effect 2 = Witcher 2 > Mass Effect > Dragons Age Origins > Deus Ex HR >Dragon Age 2> Witcher

Play Mass Effect 1 then 2
Then play Dragon Age 1 then 2
Play Deus Ex HR
Then play Witcher 1 then 2

This way you start/finish strong, change up the rpg setting every 2 games, and should be ready for Mass Effect 3 by the time you're done

Edit: all of the games listed are excellent

I know opinions blah blah blah...but did you really just say The Witcher 2 is equivalent in quality to ME2? Really?

Don't get me wrong, Witcher 2 was ok, and it was gorgeous, but as good as ME2? Not even in the ballpark. I won't even bother comparing it to ME1 since I believe ME1 is the best RPG ever made.

I'm pretty sure Amazon has a deal on Deus Ex: Human Revolution right now...
Yep. It's $35 [http://www.amazon.com/Deus-Ex-Human-Revolution-Xbox-360/dp/B002I0JA7E] on consoles and $40 for a PC download [http://www.amazon.com/Deus-Ex-Human-Revolution-Xbox-360/dp/B002I0JA7E] (Why so much more of a price cut for the console versions?).

So get both. They're both fantastic. If you still have to choose, then I'd go with Mass Effect 2. It's my favorite game ever. So there's my bias. But really, your question might as well be "Which of these games are you more biased towards?"

BTW, is there a movie from Deus Ex? Plans? Bioware is recording Mass effect and taking to big screens. Got to be something

As much as I love ME2, Deus Ex is, simply put, a better game. That being said there's no rush so if you aren't aching to play it right away then wait a bit and in the mean time get Mass Effect which should be cheaper of the two at this point.

Edit: I just realized I'm contributing to necromantic arts by posting in this thread. Why was this brought up again? He must already have made his choice weeks ago.

Deus Ex all the way. I had to force myself to finish ME2 it was really bad. They dumbed it down so much from the first game it wasn't even a RPG anymore. It is easily bioware's worst game and after it I seriously doubt I will be picking up ME3.

Get Mass Effect. You can get both 1 & 2 new for $20 a piece, and they both offer over 20 hours of gameplay easily.

Why would this be a point in its favor? They were going to make a Halo movie before they realized their story revolved around a mute who does little more than kill the thing.

OT: Honestly, there is no right answer.

It's not point, just like Pokemon anime movies. Just saying that if it's so good Deus EX, they should do a movie, maybe.

I've been playing almost all bioware games since Baldur's Gate, and I prefer Mass Effect over all the other ones. But that's my prefer.

Saying "wich is better", must say why; not just because I said so. So, Metal Gear is better than Call of Duty just because you hid?

I'm not looking for a right answer, just for arguments and different points of view.

I would say Human Revolution, because the gameplay is much better. On the other hand though, I did really enjoy ME2 on my first time, and I was only in retrospect that I started to think it was a bit overrated. That, and it's much cheaper.
That said, if you haven't played ME1 yet, play that game instead of ME2. Although ME2 does overall improve upon ME1, the area's it improves on are all done much better in HR than in ME2.
