Pro tip, if you want to increase your odds of rares you want, dont start off with Spectre packs, you will have a faster time getting the items you want and stockpiling stuff you need like equipment by buying veteran packs at the very beggining.

once you have stockpiled enough medigels, OPS packs, missles and *narf* ammo packs, you will probably have 3 or 4 good guns and a some characters.

So basically you're saying that I should keep to veteran packs and I'll come across the items I want while stockpiling other consumable items? Or do you mean that if you stockpile enough items, they'll stop appearing in item packs, making more room for important unlockables?

They stop appearing, once you get the Avenger X you will no longer see the avenger, in fact if you run 100k in recruit packs you will stop getting the basic weapons allthogether and will only be getting human character cards.

so yes, buy vet packs until the shitty guns are all gone then start going for spectre packs when you think you are ready.

Won't that take a ridiculous amount of time though? There are a lot of unlockables to be found in veteran packs and I would probably be able to buy tons of spectre packs with that kind of money. Not to mention that I will still have to buy tons of Spectre packs in order to unlock and upgrade the gear I want.

60k will net you everything you need from the recruit packs

60k will also net you 3 vet packs that 30% of the time drop a good rare or a good uncommon.

Thanks. It's not really a problem to get through silver most of the time though. I'm just bummed out that I won't be able to fight on gold for a while due to shitty luck with items.

I made an account, literally to post on this thread. Something just happened about a minute ago that is just unfair. Picture this:

Wave 7. Firebase Glacier. Silver Challenge. The Reapers are coming from every direction, it's all I can do to not drop my weapon with fear. An explosion stumbles me and a cannibal takes his chance. I'm down. One of my kind hearted team mates comes to my rescue, finishing off the cannibal and revives me. Before I even stand up, I'm being sucked into a Banshee's tractor beam of death (read that on RJ 17's post. Made me lol.) and suddenly I have a hand through my chest.

Seriously?!?!?!? Isn't there some sort of spawn/revive protection? And to top it all off, the only two of my team left standing die, so we lose... I don't understand how that's fair. It's just aggravating to me that because the Banshee's instakill has an animation, that I must die because she started it as I was being revived.

Also, I hate the pack system as well... I want my Turian Sentinel... Please, BioWare, please!

One last thing. Have to agree with (sorry can't remember your name), but this thread is cursed. All night, I hadn't got a single vanguard who was Charge-Nova-ing...ing. Three matches in a row and I get one. =(
