After some perusing of the ME3 website, it appears that ME3 will be using Origin on the PC version...
Where exactly does it say that Origin will be mandatory for ME3?

I'll get it. Then I'll uninstall Origin, crack the game that I legally purchased and play like A BOSS.
Probably this for me.
The main thing I'm concerned about is EA keeping the price ridiculously high for way too long.
Not just EA. I've wanted to play Starcraft 2, but it is still 60 Bucks a year later. But I get what you mean with their high prices.

I've always played the ME Series on the Xbox, so this particular issue doesn't affect me massively. However, I do play a lot of other games on PC, and in my opinion, Origin can go and die in a ditch. I've grown so weary of publishers using consumers as cannon fodder in their war against OTHER CONSUMERS; it just splits the gaming community and causes unnecessary tension and anger between these arbitrary groups. The very existence of this poll is proof of that; this is a yes/no issue, which immediately splits us into 2 groups, inherently causing tension:

At first I thought this was a stupid question. Then i saw the poll going the way of "yes".
What the fuck is wrong with you people?
Case in point.

The thing that really gets to me, however, is the fact that THIS HURTS EVERYBODY! If ME3 is Origin-exclusive (not certain as to whether it actually is, but let's assume so for the sake of argument), then the PC gamers who don't want to download EA's shitty platform (who, at time of writing, constitute 49% of the poll) can't buy the game on their preferred system, meaning that the game could potentially lose 49% of it's PC sales (this wouldn't apply practically, of course; I'm just working with this tiny sample. You get my point, though). This obviously means less precious money for both EA and Bioware, and I'm pretty sure that the latter won't be too happy with the former for excluding a large portion of the ME fanbase, some of whom will undoubtedly throw misguided ire at the developer. EA, get over yourselves. You don't need to compete with Steam, just publish good games, sans this bullshit, and PEOPLE WILL BUY THEM.

Sorry for the rant; I know that all of what I've just said has been pointed out before, but I wanted to get that off my chest.

TL;DR - Publisher and developer get less money (and potentially harm future sales), many consumers can't buy game/have to compromise, developer gets undeserved flak from some of the aforementioned consumers. EA, Y U NO STOP THIS?!

Really, in my humble gaming opinion, if your using a PC to play anything other than a massive RTS (like the Total War series or *shudder and gag* Starcraft)or an MMO than your wasting your time. PC gaming in general is dead its much better to play on a console. Hell half the time people play PC's with console style controllers so why not cut out the middle man and save yourself a whole lot of time, money, and grief.

Those that have PS3's might slightly disagree but 360 owners know what im talking about.

Also ME3 looks to be one of the best games of this generation, now add to that the fact that it will end different ways depending on how you played ME1 and 2, and you open up a host of replay possibilites for all three games.
Have fun with your stripped down version of Team Fortress 2 then. No hair off my back.

Meh, I might make the coin toss I was going to do for buying on 360 or PC slightly more biased towards 360 now. With the amount of stuff on my PC already I don't see how another program of questionable intentions will make much difference at this point.

If it does appear to, then yes I won't be getting it.
Then why don't you get it for one of the consoles? You can still play the game, but you don't have to deal with Origin. Also, by buying a console version of it, you're effectively "voting" against Origin, thereby increasing the chances of EA either scrapping it or fixing it. It's a win-win situation!

If you honestly think Origin is THAT BAD, you obviously have little experience with a place called the INTERNET.

But I will say that I'm concerned about whether or not I can use my saves from steam :(
Saves are usually saved at a standard location so they can be reached even though you use a physical copy then buy it from Steam after that. I can't bring myself to believe EA would be stupid enough to not allow it to work like that. Still, if they are you could probably just locate the save files and move them to where Origin saves them.

I wont be getting Mass Effect 3. Not because of Origin, because a game that makes me read a 2 hour long dialog before I get to play anything that isn't a tutorial bores me to no end. I also don't care about moral choices. So honestly I prefer cut scenes or story integrated in the gameplay to the endless talking.

That's a nice, unbiased poll you have there.

I'll have EA raid my computer thanks because frankly, I'm not so arrogant as to think that EA cares in the slightest what's on my hard drive or where I go on the internet. The Man isn't trying to oppress you. The Man doesn't care about you at all.

Likewise. My save files are there, and I ain't buying and playing through both games on a new platform just for better squad controls.

I'm getting it on the Xbox(though I need to replace my old dinosaur 360 that finally red ringed last week)because that's where my save files are. So it doesn't affect me.

And Origin's EULA was changed in August, so it's no longer any more intrusive than Steam. So that particular complaint just flew right out the window.

I would also like to add, that the way people do polls in this site annoys me. I don't care what your stance on the situation is. Make a proper and unbiased poll, instead of just going all Fox News with it.

Console gaming. Suck it.
Don't even start.

Just let people enjoy what platforms they prefer to play on, and enjoy yours. There is no reason for the gaming community to tear itself apart, and continue to perpetuate negative stereotypes that have been associated with gamers by society at large.

...bit of a biased pole, don't you think?

Getting it on console, so origin is a non-issue. Other than that...yea, I'm still pretty excited, and the announcement of co-op did nothing but get me more pumped. Would post some sort of "haters gonna hate" image, but I'm lazy, and I think I've just been invaded in Dark Souls...

I'm not much of a PC gamer at all, but I've stuck to playing the Mass Effect games on my PC, mainly due to better use of save files which you can acquire online.

However, I'm still not so sure about Origin. If the game is staying exclusive to the service, I'll wait for the price to drop. If it's on Steam, I'll get it Day 1.

Even though I am pissed about the multiplayer even existing in this game, I still absolutely love Mass Effect. It has been preordered and paid for since the moment they gave a release date.

No. Partly because of Origin, but mainly because I've played them on the 360 all this time. I like to keep my franchises contained to one platform if possible.

I'm probably the kind of person this poll was made for; I've really enjoyed the Mass Effect series, and I reeeeeallly don't want Origin on my computer. (And I don't have a PS3 or XBox 360 lurking under my television. ME3 for Wii?... Yeah, not holding my breath.)

If it comes to that (and I still hope cooler heads will prevail), I have to give it a pass. The data-mining was bad (and despite what some are saying, yes, it is worse than anything Steam does, from what I can determine), but the "Oh, and by the way, no suing us" clause is just unconscionable. There comes a point where it's less about the software and more about delivering a message to the company that you aren't going to allow the status quo to shift that way; software companies are screwing over their consumer base enough these days without giving ground on something like this.
