You forgot Hanar. I want a ME game where I play as Blasto. That is all.
I didn't mention the Hanar because the only way to do a Hanar justice is a Blasto game, and the world isn't ready for the awesomeness of Blast Effect

Leave it to rest, don't let it become another uninspired franchise. Bioware has so far been really good at keeping their games fresh, I'd hate to see them take an Activision approach to their games.

Hmmmmmm for them to work on Jade Empire 2 would be nice ^___^

But if I had to choose within the Mass Effect Universe.... Well ya know the whole First Contact War; that would be intresting to see.

After they finish the trilogy, I'd like them to further explore the universe/timelines with a different protagonist.

I love Mass Effect, but I could deal with it if ME3 was the last ME ever.

Whatever becomes of the series, Shepard's story and the Reaper plot should be wrapped up, never to be unravelled again at the end of ME3. Any further ME games should have a new star and cast, and a new plot.

Also, Mass Effect/Star Trek crossover. Come on, you know it'd work.

1. Stop with the "Pancakes!" nonsense

2. Make Mass Effect into an MMO so I can please play as a Turian or Geth

3. Mass Effect 3 comes first.

I want the series to go on, definitely. I'd love to be a Quarian on his or her pilgramage, with possible tie-ins to a Geth-Quarian conflict. It would be a break from the epic defeat the ancient unstoppable evil, but would allow for more poignant and creative storytelling. That's #1 on my want list for the series.

Alternatively, we go back to when the Geth became self-aware (though that would mean no pilgramage story). This could let us see the Quarians in a completely different light: accepted by the council races, without the need for enviromental suits, with a home-planet and with Geth servants (at least at the beginning of the game).

For other races...

I'd love to be a Turian fleet commander. Decision-making would take center stage in this game, but I don't want an RTS. I don't know how they'd pull this off, but I'd commend them for trying even if it doesn't turn out great.

Given that I seldom look further into a game's lore past the games themselves, I'll be more than content once I finish ME3. As for Shepard him(her)self... hell, I'm gonna go ahead and say it now, I'm expecting him (her) to die in some sort of grandiose sacrifice or something supposedly noble and all that other heroic shit.

At that point, I'll calmly slap in another game and bide my time there while I wait for another BioWare universe to submerge myself into.

I think they should turn it on its head. Rather than being one of the greatest heroes in the galaxy, with your own warship and personal army, I think it'd be cool to be a complete loser, for once. A lazy, incompetent scavenger of hardly any significance who gets swept up in an intergalactic conspiracy. Or something. So instead of running around saying "I'm a Spectre, damnit! The fate of the universe is at stake!", you're more like "Sup Krogan. How's your quad hangin'?"

Kind of like what Firefly is to Star Trek.

One of the earlier posters mentioned "learn from Star Wars".

I think SW had a lot of games that were almost-there; I enjoyed Rogue Squadron on the N64 and the Jedi Academy games. The balance for Bioware is being able to implement the ME universe into another good game without relying on the franchise to hold everything together.

A full on shooter, a flight sim, a more RPG-y RPG are all options. People seem keen on exploring things from a non-human POV, so an RPG looks to be the best option - though a solid shooter based on the first contact war... *swoon*

I heard in an interview that Mass Effect 3 will be the last game were you play as Sheperd but they are going to continue making games set in the Mass Effect universe. If anyone could find that interview it would be cool. Also I for one hope they mae a Mass Effect rts.

I would just like to remind the OP that Nickelback is Canadian.

I think I would put Bioware in my list of big name companies that operate like an indie company.

Valve and Bungie are also on this list (Yes I said it, Bungie could have milked Halo alot more then it did.)

How about something relating to the Rachni Wars/Krogan Rebellion? One of the hardest choices I had to make was to support the genophage or not. It'd be interesting to actually be there and see the circumstances first hand and ultimately making some sort of decision. The thing is this is set so far back that it wouldn't feel like you choices matter, like they're already set in stone. Bioware would have to be creative with this one. So something set after the Reaper invasion would probably be best.

I supose a prequel could work, howver Im a little wary of prequels

if there was a seaquel I would hope its somthing waay further down the track...I could see them taking the dragon age 2 aproach with a new charachter and a story NOT about saving the world from some big dark threat but somone rising from the aftermath

anyway I really hope to god the movire never happens, thats just gonna ruin my day

I love mass effects universe, I mean its HUGE, as well as dragon age's. So comic, games, tv shows, books, movies, of mass effect IMO would be great. As long as it stays at high quality I wont care.

Prequels wouldn't be too bad, but I'm kinda hoping everyone we know dies in ME3.

I hope Shepard and co. find a way to defeat the Reapers, but it's too late. Accepting their fate, they preserve the crucial information, including info on what the Reapers are and do (and proof of their existence) into something that will survive the invasion (like the Prothean beacons, or encode it somehow into the Keepers). Shepard then has one final hurrah with his entire squad, fighting side by side, each of the characters you've grown to cherish going down fighting, one by one. Then finally, Shepard succumbs to the onslaught (kinda like Halo Reach).

After a while there could be the sound of some kind of bizarre language being spoken, and images of strange new species developing, discovering the citadel, discovering your warning, and defeating the Reapers. The game ending on a screen of an enormous statue of your Shepard, resting in the citadel's presidium.
