Alright do you know your social security number without looking at it up or whatever? We are curious. Don't ask how this came up we were talking, and I said I didn't know mine offhand and I made a comment like I think most people under 27 don't know theirs. Please only vote if you are 27 and under.

Alright new age cap is by popular demand now 30 and younger so feel free.

Well yeah. For most college students, your SS is what went on all your paperwork and was essentially what you type into systems to make them work.

Why do you want to know? This seems like an elaborate ruse to get me to tell you my social security number, then steal my identity, then use it to destroy the world. I've got my eye on you.

But to answer your question, yes.

I don't know mine by heart, though I take the time to memorize it, by the time I have to use it, I've forgotten it. But, that has more to do with me being horrible with numbers than anything.

CURSE YOU You've figured me out. Nah I was just curious. I don't know mine offhand, and well it just came up. He made a poll on another forum somewhere.

Is that the US equivalent to a National Insurance number? Cause if that's the case then yes I do. I'm 19 BTW.

Why yes I do it's 123waitaminute!

Seriously, uh yeah pretty much. Once you have to write it out a bunch (schools apps, tax forms, etc) it just kinda sticks.

Kindasortamaybenotreally. Social Security is basically the national retirement fund.

Did not vote since I am 30, not sure why 27 is the magic number, but yeah I have memorized my social security number since I was a teenager.

That's what the National Insurance payments are for, as well as other things like Job Seekers Allowance.

I learned it when I was 16 and was applying for jobs since I had to wright it on every forum. Not to mention my highschool used the last 4 digits as a password for your account on their system.

Couple years ago, I figured it would be less of a hassle to memorized it, so I memorized it I did.

I memorized mine when I was 16 or so I think. I wouldn't have thought it very practical to not memorize it by 20. It's not a number you use very often, but it is rather important, and not having it memorized could easily be a pain.

I've had mine memorized for a while now. It's really easy, because there are a crapton of 0's in it. Just like my school ID, which is also over half zeros.

I'm 24. And yes, I do know my SSN by heart. I'm pretty sure I memorized it first when I was in middle school.

It's called a 'Burger Service Nummer' (citizen's service number) in Dutch, and I've not memorised it (I'm 34 btw, no idea where the 27 limit came from). I need it once or twice a year when doing taxes and at no other time.

I don't think I've needed to fill it in more then 20 times in my entire life.

Yeah, I've known mine since I was about fourteen, I guess. Sure, it's not something you need all that often, but it's only nine numbers. I also know all my credit card info from memory too, so maybe I'm just good with numbers...
