Both!

That's how it turns out anyway, mostly because it is IMPOSSIBLE to ignore that red button that comes up during conversations sometimes - or as I like to call it, the Button of Badassery.
Big red buttons were designed to be pushed. You can't not push the big red button. If you do, you have more self control than anyone ought to. Besides, there's a huge difference between being a dick to someone on your side, and someone who is clearly about to order the guards to shoot your ass.

And just because you're a paragon doesn't mean you can't be pragmatic.

my first playthrough i always play as if i were the main character and i tend to be a paragon but i also think ahead to the coming battle and think about what would help me to that end the most. *SPOILERS* i tend to do things that will make the battle against the reapers a good fight like letting wrex live, letting the rachni live, but also allowing the station at the end of ME2 to survive

i then play with my goodguy (who i make look like a fish) and my badass chick that just shoots first and doesnt ask questions ever

Paragon.

I'm always playing a good guy, but the game makes it far too easy to stay that way with highlighting what the options lead to.

Dragon Age and New Vegas played this concept far better in my opinion, along with Deus Ex.

in most games with a good/evil meter i usually go good, but i struggle with some of the choices.

One playthough of (mostly) Renegade and (mostly)Paragon, i start the first playthrough doing whatever i want but that's usually the Paragon option anyway.

But my third playthrough was the most satisfying for some reason, probably because i was going for the most badass choices, with my crew and with the ungrateful plebs. Even fucked over TIM at the end and it was epic

well I do a few playthroughs, my first is just me. By that I mean I make what decisions I would if I were actually Shepard. I usually turn out Paragon because I always love my crew and help them out, but with a fair amount of Renegade actions because I like to get shit done.... sometimes quickly. My second time around(in ME 2) I'm doing(currently.... got lazy half-way through and stopped) a complete Renegade playthrough. The Renegade options are hilarious sometimes and I like to see Shepard smiling malevolently. Both playthroughs have had characters imported from ME1 that made the same type of decisions(my own and then renegade)

Most of you play as Paragon?

Boo! Who sent all these babies to fight!

Paragons are nice and polite...[RENEGADE INTERRUPT] So how about GOODBYE?

Paragon.

I find the outcomes of it more satisfying than the Renegade ones. Also consistanly picking paragon tends to make the end game easier fo some reason. Although if there's no Paragon option I take the Ren as sometime they're just plain funny.
However, I did fail to get Zaeed's loyalty because I picked the wrong dialog choice, that made me ever so pissed.

Honestly, if I were playing like me I'd be paragon. I just find the asshole Shepard miles more entertaining, so I make some dialogue I don't agree with personally.

Renegade.
All the fun dialogue options are on the bad path. Or so I thought.

In fact, it's really just dickhead options with little to no moral dilemmas. Dragon Age was MUCH better at blurring the lines between good and right and evil and determined.

First playthrough; Paragon
Second playthrough; Renegade

In moral choice games I always try the most extreme of both ways, but my first character is always the good guy.

I play as a Paragon first play-through.
Second as a Renegade.
I tend to prefer the benefits of being on people's good side.

I like the renegade/paragon options, however I just don't like that certain options require a min para or ren level.
Solider/paragade- Will bust his ass for his team mates and fellow species, but I he has little tolerance or retards/douches.
Infiltrator/paragon- Shining beacon of light through and through.
Adept/renegade- A black Emperor Palpatine

a Ruthless Earthborn renegade who began to feel more compassionate over time. He got the job done by any means necessary, but he also worked extra hard to prevent friendly casualties. He ended up being balanced between Paragon and Renegade.

I followed the path of the sissy, having no options and always standing on the neutral ground. Thought the game finaly forced me to either be the good guy or the bad guy. Then I made my final mistake and started to wonder if the bullets where coming out from the 3rd person camera...
