Ponies here as well. It's bad enough i have to see it all over the web, I have to now see it all over my friends G+, Facebook, etc because they are obsessed and tend to try and push the show like some religion.
I've watched a couple episodes and don't get all the fuss. It's not bad, but its not something to obsess and be proud over either. Hell, I have an almost 30 year old friend bragging because he bought MLP notebooks.
As people stated above it isn't so much the show its the "fans." I think I'd rather spend an eternity stuck in the old Barrens Chat listening to the 5-6 different Chuck Norris jokes being repeated then have to deal with most MLP fanatics.

I probably am not mentioning every meme that I dislike but I can chalk that up to having just woken up and being tired. Anyway I will just get it out of the way and say the first thing that comes to my mind, I dislike the cake is a lie. I don't dislike it because it is overused, any joke that is funny enough should never go away entirely, but rather because it isn't even all that funny to begin with, there WAS a cake in Portal and it is stupid to say otherwise like it is some sort of clever, witty remark.

I think part of it is simply what you find funny, what kind of sense of humor you have. Another part of the problem is that lolcats/Caturday is an unusual meme in how varied it is-- it can be any cat (or cats, or other animals by a very simple extension of the concept) in any kind of situation with any caption, with the intent of humor. It's almost impossible to try to reasonably defend every way you could put those together and I think you'd be stupid to try. all other memes i generally enjoy, the amount of hilarity i have gotten from them than actual people is ridiculous.

I generally hate memes that everyone and their dad knows about. It just ruins the joke for me.
Examples include LolCats (which were funny when it was called Caturday), Rickrolling, Portal related stuff, and worst of all, FAIL.
Also, this seems to me like a cleverly disguised My Little Pony hate thread. How dare you, sir. How dare you!

As a cartoon, My Little Pony is fairly good(in my opinion), but I don't go around making it my avatar and posting quotes.
