No, except for handbags. A girl at school showed up with a Flapjack one that I was absolutely jealous of.

When I lived in Italy I saw a lot of pretty cool man-bags but my current GF won't let me carry one, despite the fact I read voraciously, have 2 phones, carry a tactical flashlight (about the most serious thing you can pack for self-defence in the UK without the police taking an interest) wear glasses for anything involving close work (reading, PC use, watching TV) and have so many loyalty cards for various places that I have a full card-wallet for them.

But oh no, can't have a man-bag. So I have to have a backpack. Which of course I proceed to fill with junk I might need. Novels, textbooks, laptop, Thermos full of tea, First Aid kit...I hardly even need to lift weights anymore, since I carry a good 45-50lbs of stuff on my back at all times, which constitutes a pretty good workout for my shoulders, back and legs...

No, I can carry my wallet, phone, keys, pistol, pocket knife and other assorted stuff quite comfortably between my belt and the pockets on my pants, if I need to carry extra stuff it usually involves a laptop which a purse won't help with. A backpack is a far more efficient and utilitarian stuff carrying device. Same goes for my grifriend the only time she ever carries a purse is when we're getting dressed up/going somewhere nice or she's wearing something with out pockets like a skirt or dress.

Also there is an socially acceptable man purse, it's called a Sporran, you wear it with a kilt.

My pockets serve me well and if I need more space it usually because I have my laptop with me and as such need my backpack.

As well, putting aside the obvious girly associations with a purse I outright don't like carrying anything in my hands for an extended period of time. Even when shopping (save groceries) if it is too large to fit in my pockets I tend to get one of my sisters or a friend to stick it in their purse. Not that this happens often.

they're pretty uncomfortable with their stubby lil straps. satchels are much better, and more manly.

hell ya, although i don't think i'd really have much to carry in it. it would probably obligate me to buy more useless crap to stick in there just so it doesn't feel so empty.

The amount of crap she's got crammed in there, where as I am limited to what my wallet and pockets can carry, which isn't a lot if I don't want my pants to look like their bulging at inappropriate moments.
You haven't researched your options thoroughly enough; Get a messenger bag, or buy some "rich kid" goth cargo pants from Tripp or the like.

No, instead I wish I had hammerspace. That'd be bitchin'. I usually think about carrying less or putting something in my backpack rather than that.

I have pockets. So no.

And you should get a satchel. Indiana Jones had one, so its cool.

Plus girls usually carry purses because they want a shitload of stuff with them, mainly make-up from what I can tell. I need my keys, wallet, cell, iPod, glasses, and some pencils/pens. That can easily fit within any pockets I'll have. I really don't need anything else to carry them in.

If you want a purse that badly I think you could find a masculine-looking suitcase-type thing that serves pretty much the same function.

Also pockets are all you need.

With all the pockets and hidden pockets that I have, a purse would be redundant.

No I haven't thats what pockets are for. And I believe you mean handbag not purse. Purse is the female version of a Man's Wallet and its usually bigger.

Though if you want to have your cake and eat it too, get a manbag the male version of a Woman's handbag.

Keys phone and wallet, that is all I carry really. No reason to carry much else. If I could get away with it, I'd carry one of my blades but they are all far too long (4 inches I think is the limit and the smallest I have is a 13 inch blade)

No, my backpack really messes me up and knowing me a purse might break something.

Since I am not always flush with pocket space I have considered getting some sort of bag to carry things around in. But I never do because it seems easier to simply carry less stuff in the first place.
