I have an issue with keeping coins loose in my pocket; I tend to lose them either while I'm sitting down or I leave them in my pockets when changing pants and they end up getting strewn about my mess of a bedroom. The simple solution to this problem is to keep all the coins in a small container so they don't get scattered so easily, perhaps a small pouch with a zipper on it, a coin purse if you will. I keep my coins in a coin purse (I usually refer to it as a "bag" or "pouch").

Whenever I use this pouch in front of one of my friends who hasn't seen it yet, I typically get the response "You use a coin purse? isn't that for old women?". I find this very frustrating; why is it unusual for me to keep all my coins in a coin purse? and why for that matter is it considered strange for men to carry any size of purse? What exactly is so feminine about a small container with straps?

I WANT TO BE ABLE TO USE MY COIN PURSE WITHOUT BEING MOCKED! ANYONE WHO MOCKS ME FOR USING A COIN PURSE IS SEXIST AND A NAZI!

Do you think men should be able to carry purses (full sized or coin-pouch-sized) without being mocked? or are you a nazi?

Pick one.

Why not use a Backpack? Or get a Wallet with a Coin holder? How much change are we talking about here?

The world isn't ready for you and your coin purse.

You should find one that's less... controversial.

[sub][sub]I don't really care either way what people use to hold their change/accessories/bacon/drowning pets, so I don't believe they should be mocked for it.[/sub][/sub]

Wallets usually have very small coin pouches which I find awkward to use, it also makes it difficult to lose the wallet when there is a lot of change in it; I find it much easier to carry a small pouch for my change.

also, I REALLY don't see why a man can't have a shoulder slung bag...I mean it's just a bag.... slung around your shoulder.... it really doesn't have quality that a rational person would deem unmasculine.

Why not use a bag type thing?
It's waaaaay manlier than a coin purse and does the same job right?

What I use is fairly close to that.... doesn't stop people from calling it a purse though : \

I'm quite proud of being a "manly man" and have no shame in being labelled a *nazi* or *sexist* if it means I get to mock blokes walking round with purses.

The same way I mock blokes that wear pink.

Why does it matter..why is it even considered feminine to wear a medium to small sized back on your shoulder.

So, if suddenly the general populace decided that wearing backpacks or carrying laptop/messenger bags made you a girl-y man...would you stop using your bag??

Why is this even an issue...geez.

Men should be able to carry purses, maybe that will stop people giving me funny looks when I pull out a wallet. Screw gender roles, people should be able to do what they want and what's most convenient for them.

Well the mockery has yet to stop me from using my coin pouch, I'm just sort of confused by why it's worthy of mockery in the first place.

How about drawing a dollar sign on it?
Now people will just find it as a joke and call you Mr. Moneybags instead of questioning your manliness, or you could bank those coins O.O

That wasn't directed at you, sorry. It was directed in general with people have an issue with pouches made to hold things :p

meh that seems fine. Thats a small bag more than anything. A full blown purse on the other hand....

You can always make the excuse that you want a piece of history from X time period where people carried their money in such pouches.

Umm, yeah - I do have one of those, what of it? Well, it doesn't look exactly the same - it's smaller (slightly larger than a CD holder) and it's black but it has, like, an over the shoulder strap and it's seriously useful. I don't war it all the time, though - I also have a coat with lots of pockets, but I certainly take it with me when travelling or during the summer or something when I don't have many pockets (no coat in the summer).

It looks approximately

Slightly different model, though - it has two pockets in front. Actually found a better image

Essentially this but turned 90 degrees clockwise (the front pockets are rotated sideways, too). I had this exact model but gave it to a friend of mine, since I already had mine as well.

My father has a bag - actually he's the one that inspired me, as I said, a friend of mine also has one, I know a fair few people who also carry bags and are male. I don't see what the issue is. It's bloody useful thing, let me tell you - especially if you're travelling - stick all the tickets in one of the pockets and you're set. Also - it doesn't count towards the hand luggage you can carry on a flight. Moreover, it makes the bloody metal scanners way easier to go through - get in the line and put your things in the bag while waiting. Once you get the basket thingie, you don't have to hold the entire line - drop the bag and go through. Then take it.

I prefer backpacks. How ever if you get something more like a pack (think laptop carrying case) rather then a bag (don't ask me what the difference is its far too arbitrary for me to figure out) people won't care. The reason you can't use a purse is the same reason you can't wear a dress. They are associated with females. The reason why men can't wear females items but females can wear males items is tied up in sexual ideas and psychology and a mountain a gobbidy-gook and human mind miss-mass.

From what I hear men have more "power" and man being more woman like is seen as a step down in power to a female's status while a woman dressing like a man is seen as a step in up in power to a male's status. Society sees that step down in power as more weird and unusual so its taboo.

That said, I really do like to just have a backpack and screw all the noise of gender issues.

think wallets pretty much solved all mens problems with carrying ID and money so i dont see the point, what interests me is why women don't carry wallets since they always seem to be losing their shit. seriously fashion start giving women more pockets and less fucking dresses made of meat

also this is the only coin purse you can carry and still be a man

nothing says "i'm a man don't fuck with me" more than ripping somethings ballsack off and using it to store your shit in

Men are able to wear purses. I am also able to rip the ever loving piss out of these men, questioning sexuality, gender and mentality, until they give up their women's apparel.

Use your wallet and pockets. I've never had so many coins that my pockets are too heavy with them. If it bothers you so much do what my friend does and give them to charity. You don't have to carry around stupid change and you earn karma.

You must have an incredible amount of coins to find a wallet insufficient to carry your loose change around. Ever considered spending more coins rather than breaking into notes? Or making a habit of putting the more worthless coins into those charity boxes they have on shop counters?

Personally i don't care what you use to keep your money in, but remember that other people will always judge you for being different, it is a sad thing about human nature really. But if you can live with that great, all the more power to you.
