I never did meet the guy... I feel weird and horribly out of place at people's funerals if I didn't know them personally.

I mean if someone approached you and asked how you know the deceased what are you supposed to say? You came for the food? You'd probably get punched out.

Nope, but I don't have a TV.
Or, I have a TV, I just don't have a subscription to any channels.
It's complicated.

No, I had minimal interest in him when he was alive, I have even less now that he's dead.

I share your opinion. But it's not an actual funeral. It was more a "Remember Michael" kind of thing. No one knew (well...except family and some close friends) that the casket will be shown there.

I feel kind of weird...I never met him but I was so sad to hear he died...I feel like something's changed, even tho his music wasn't really a big part of me.

No, didn't watch it. However, I had the daughter's "speech" forced upon me by my mother after her getting sick of me being such a cold bastard and not caring about the whole affair.

Am I the only one who thinks its despicable to broadcast what should be a private, family matter? Not to mention turning the thing into a concert. If artists want to pay a tribute to Jackson, they should have done an album together with the proceeds going to charity or his children. But this is just shameless. So no, I didn't watch it.

No, I wasn't interested to be honest.
And even if I was, I wouldn't have had time, anyways.

I saw the part with his daughter, but during the rest I was killing people in Team Fortress 2.

yeah it was mostly pretty bad, kinda like a cheap entertainment event a bit like the oscars. the only really genuine feeling came from his family and maybe stevie wonder. brooke shields looked like she was pretending to cry but had no tears and most of it was just fake and schmaltzy.

I forgot it was happening because I didn't care, although I feel sorry for his kids.
