Today, i contacted microsoft customer services to clear something with my xbox gamertag.
I phoned up and within a couple of seconds i was connected. I found the man to a accent which i found a tiny bit hard to understand when he said some things. But over-all i was thoroughly impressed. He knew what he was doing, kind and helpful. I don't find ANY other customer services like this. They are usually indians who don't know ANYTHING about your problem.
I believe i may have solved my problem but anyways.

What are your experiences with Microsoft/Sony Customer support?

My experience with Sony support happened when my PS3 YLOD'd, and I found they were very helpful and useful.

On the whole Customer Service teams are usually quite good. Thing is you only remember the bad ones.

Crap, but then I don't recall ever finding a customer service center that wasn't shit, even the ones considered some of the best. My computer is an example, when they went on an on about the graphics card when I knew for a fact that wasn't the problem. And of course they never pick up the phone. After a week of calling and getting nothing, I had to call another department entirely to get ahold of someone. In the end my computer savvy friend fixed the problem by diagnosing the HDD (the symptoms of which look nothing like a graphics card problem), and these guys are considered some of the best in customer service. Very depressing really.

Yeah, I have to say, Microsoft's customer service is great. The guy had a little bit of an accent, but Marco was a good rep and told me exactly what to do to get my RROD Xbox 360 replaced.

Blizzard is also good with customer service. I was hacked, and they solved it within a day, giving all my items back. A GM was in contact throughout the whole thing via email. Also, I called them once because I couldn't find out how to cancel my subscription and it went fast and helpful again. Sidenote, it turned out I wasn't subscribed anymore since they automatically unsubscribe you if you get hacked. Felt silly there.

In general, I would say customer service is good, both on the phone and in person. At least in my experiences.

Every time I have to re-install Windows, I call up to get my activation key.

For some reason, I do find the phone-line customer service to be fantastic.

Being a Microsoft employee, yes, the customer service is great.
While I don't work in that field, the interactions I've had with them have always been good.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
the 360 support is... mediocre at best but the windows support is pretty good, at least if you can finally get ahold of them

I had a few problems with windows 7 when I put it on and after awhile of trying to get the support call working right, got transfered to dead numbers a few times, I got ahold of a tech who was very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable, Im pretty sure she was still from india but she had very little accent and was easy to understand so Ill give it a pass
