I went with what would best suit me, not what I would like to be. So I ended up saying hobbit. I'm too lazy to be anything else other than an ent.

Immortality is overrated.

I'll take hobbit thank you very much. Those guys seem to have a nice comfortable peaceful life. At the end of the day,I just want to do my thing and not be bothered about it. No race does that better than the hobbits.

Ent. I typically do things slowly and deliberately. Also I like trees, not in the same way elves do. Besides epic moss beards. Who wouldn't want that?

Hobbit. I'm a laid back relaxed sort of guy, who also happens to like reading and writing. Also, if push comes to shove, I think I CAN just grit my teeth and dare to be badass and take everyone by surprise.

Would definitely wanna live in the shire.

Elves are cool, but I think being one would be kind of depressing. Especially if you were born in later years, when they're all fading and most of the awesome ones who met the Valar went west like twelve thousand years ago. If Istari isn't an option then I guess I'm a Man. They might be plain, but their fate is beyond the music of the Ainur.

Well, I can't decide between elf or hobbit. I mean immortality, beauty and everlasting health is rather enticing.

But Hobbits seems to live life to the fullest. I mean they seem to spend all their time eating, drinking, partying, smoking that fine magic weed and just have fun. That seems like a damn good life too me.

well elves obvious first choice but frankly , i think they are actually probably very very boring, tempted to be a shape shifter be fun flying or running about but there appears to be only one and hes a vegetarian so.. no decent food and poor prospect for the nookie. so pour me an ale and fill my pipe guess im joining the bare foot folk

I'd be an elf, for the longevity and parkour skills.

I really wouldn't want to be any of the others in that world.

I would be a man because immortality is not for me. And besides, all the benefits to hobbit life? You could always be a man living in Bree. Which is pretty much just as good.

Also, it really seems to need to be said based on the tone of a couple people's posts: pipe weed in Middle Earth is tobacco. Just so we're all clear on that.

What was that big tentacly thing in the tailing pond out in front of the gates to the mines of Moria? I think it was just the Watcher... some kind of multi-limbed drake or squid?

As a sort of generic Ring Wraith, could I flesh out my backstory a bit, like what kingdom of men I ruled before I got all corrupty?

A Balrog is too easy- it's like saying I want to be one of the Valar, or a demigod, so I doubt that's a fair choice...

How many children did Ungoliant have? If any survived her hunger beyond Shelob, then a spidery-shadow-demon-thing would be awesome. Put me down for that.

Definitely a Valar. Then maybe I could have prevented Middle Earth from going all to shit or at least mitigate the damage somewhat. At the very least I could give the Maiar more leeway...

I'd be one of the elves or one of the Hobbits.
An Elf because I want to live forever. A Hobbit because they are so chilled. Eat, sleep, drink, repeat.
Though I guess a dwarf would be acceptable.

Ent.

It takes me an age to do even the simplest of tasks, time is something I mostly ignore, something seriously major has to happen to rile me up and my chances with the lady-folk are as if they didn't even exist.
Man, it's been ages since a comment on the Escapist made me laugh out loud. Thank you.

As for me, either an elf (immortality, disease immunity, pretty as fuck, good at everything, why wouldn't I?) or a Hobbit (the simple life).

However, given that "Other" is a choice, Istari (Maiar to be precise). Gon' be a wizard.

I'm 6'3, have hair that's over 2 foot long and is incredibly straight naturally, and while I'm in shape I'm not jacked or anything. I feel I have to be an elf I'm afraid. If it wasn't for my beard I'd already be one.

Actually, can I pick elf-dwarf hybrid? That would be cool.

-Edit-

Oh, forgot to take into account my rather hairy feet that actually make wearing socks for extended times uncomfortable so I'm barefoot whenever I'm home. My friends actually do call my feet "Hobbit feet". Am I just some freakish amalgamation by this point?

Dwarf

Pride, A big axe, Strong drink, a stone hall over your head, and fighting the earth itself for its riches.

What's not to love? Who needs to be a hero? Every dwarf is his own hero.

I'd want to be an Ancalagon the Black sized dragon, and just burn and pillage all day long :D
