So I just finished college and now have alot of free time. So I was wondering if I should get a 3DS with Ocarina of Time 3D or get Minecraft.

I know its a odd pair of choices, but there the two things that seem worth getting right now.

So what do you think? Im not bothered about the price difference, I just want something that I can play for a long time and keep me entertained.

Well, it depends, do you want to be creative and have fun or do you want to play an enhanced remake of a game that came out in 1998 in 3D and spend almost $300 doing that or, for Minecraft you can pay $20.

well i can say from experience that a 3DS is good but minecraft is much better but thats because i didn't like the games on the 3DS. if you like the games avalible on the 3DS get it or wait a bit until something does come on the handheld that your like might want to think a bit before making your choice, wait a bit then make your choice

Minecraft would be way cheaper, and IMO has way more replay value (as long as you're somewhat creative). But if you really like Ocarina of Time (and headaches, since I hear the 3DS can cause pretty bad ones), then go for it.

Why not get both? If you can afford a 3DS, I'm sure you can afford an extra 10-20 of whatever your currency is...?

I'm honestly pretty biased towards Minecraft, as I've played countless hours of it and I haven't owned a Nintendo product since my GBA, but I'll still say get Minecraft because it's cheaper, and I've heard that the 3DS can cause headaches if you play it for too long. So yeah, Minecraft.

Whoa.... Tough decision...

Well, minecraft will let you play forever. I don't know if Notch will keep releasing game changing updates after release so watch that.

The 3DS has some good third party support with games like Street Fighter 4 and Splinter Cell. Let us not forget the re-release of Ocaria of Time, one of the greatest games of all time. (Which I don't think it is.) There will also be more nintendo titles being remade and updated versions of titles like Paper Mario and Star Fox.

I can't really help you here.

I'd say go for the 3DS, just mind the 3D effect, it's painfully headache inducing. If you are gonna go with a 3DS then you can probably fork out the extra and get Pokemon Black or White, since it's definitely worth getting.

Although on the other hand, as long as you're at least mildly creative (did somebody say "Fortress"?) Minecraft will provide hours upon hours of entertainment. Besides, have you seen the shit they're adding to it in future updates?? Holy shit!

On top of all that, if the style isn't to your liking, you can download one of a few thousand texture packs for the game. Since they didn't really focus on textures and HD quality graphics, they've had more than enough time to implement way more features than some AAA titles. It's amazing what can be accomplished when you just say "Y'know what? I'm not an artist. Fuck graphics".

As long as you have ideas that keep you interested in building, Minecraft will keep you interested. Not only that, but it'll do it for $20, as opposed to whatever ridiculous amount you'd have to pay for a 3DS. Not only that, I'm going to guess that you've probably played OOT before anyways, so it seems kind of silly to choose the expensive replay over the cheap game with a potentially unlimited play value that is improved by the addition of multiplayer. After I opened up a multiplayer server with my friends, I've dropped more time into the game than I can count, making everything from office buildings and factories, to giant statues of Doctor Manhattan, King Boo, and Brainiac's Ship.

So, I vote Minecraft. You could use the money you save for something else awesome, like checking out DC's amazing Flashpoint event that's going on right now.

I've never played Minecraft but the 3DS is so painful to look at I'd have to say Minecraft, and besides they just came out with a Legend of Zelda mod in it I hear :p

You at least have a vague idea of when the 3DS' games will release, and you know that games are going to keep being released.

C*nts can't DDoS hack a 3DS. And if they somehow did, Nintendo would give a forthcoming effort (or at least a damn) to resume services and arrest the hackers.
A DDoS is so simple to perform you should be mad at the companies who's servers are so shoddy and still expect you to trust them with your money.

Also, the hackers have hacked the FBI and CIA so it's not like Nintendo can swoop in to the rescue on them.

Minecraft has given me countless hours of gameplay, whereas the 3DS has given me countless hours of headaches. I'm gonna go with Minecraft for this one.

Minecraft, the 3DS is a superfluous, eye straining paperweight. Plus, Nintendo doesn't make good games anymore, doncha know.

If you want to play Ocarina of Time get a N64 emulator (or buy the N64 version of the game but that'd be pretty hard).

I'm going to have to agree with the "Why not both?" comments on this thread. If you can afford a 3DS and Ocarina of Time 3D, then there's not really much of a reason why you can't get Minecraft as well. Of course, depending on what type of person you are Minecraft may ruin your social life forever, so I would say go with the safer option.

Do you like building things in a virtual world? I mean A LOT of bulding.
If not, get a 3DS. I kind of regret my purchase of Minecraft.

EDIT - A lot of people are saying both. I agree, if, of course, you are the type of person I described in my first sentence.
