Just get a 3DS. Don't listen to the poll, get the 3DS. People saying that Minecraft has more replay value than the 3DS don't know what they're talking about, the 3DS has multiple titles, it's not a single game. Minecraft's replay value runs out after you realize you've done everything you want to do.

and in another year and a halfish they'll be releasing a better version of the 3DS anyway. That's the one I'm waiting for.
No they won't. The DS Lite came out two years after the release of the DS phat. Have fun waiting a few years, you're going to be missing out on all these upcoming games.
lets see, the 3DS was released end of March in the US? So far it has been out for 3 months I said a year and a half ish giving me +/- 3 months

unless my math is incorrect, 3 months + 1 year 6 months + 3 months is 2 years. look at that. I r smart.

Also, you say that last part like the games will disappear from existence after a month on the shelf. That's not how it works. Sure I don't play them new, but I still play them.

I waited for the GBASP and I waited for the DSlite. I have no problem waiting for the 3DS M2.
And what if there is never a new version? Will you be missing out on this handheld generation? :) This version is sufficient enough.

i would just say minecraft because its about 400 dollars cheaper than buying a 3Ds and games
I'm not sure that the OP is considering buying every 3DS game.
He is still considering buying the 3DS which is still expensive. Also, if he only wants Ocarina of Time is that amount of money ok for one game (console cost + game)? Considering that there are emulators for the N64 and that there arent many good games for the 3DS I dont see the point of getting a 3DS.

That depends. Do you have a DS already? Do you have an N64, Gamecube, or Wii? If the answer is yes to both of these, don't waste your time with a 3DS and just get Minecraft before they raise the price again.

There are tons of good games on the way. The launch was weak but most launches are. As far as I know, these games won't be playable on N64 emulators.

I guess eventually I'll settle if Nintendo absolutely doesn't see it necessary to make another version, but they always do. I just never get the first batch of anything. I always see those products as the practice batch.

Yeah, the current 3DS works, but what if they do make a better one? Suddenly I'm stuck with a touch screen smaller than the DSi's and the battery life of the Game Gear (that's a joke).

Doesn't always work to my favor. I'd like to have a PS3 that was PS2 compatible, so instead I have to have the PS2 set up.

I might actually go with a 3DS if there were more good games out. Realistically MineCraft is a better buy, for the replay value and price alone.

So I just finished college and now have alot of free time. So I was wondering if I should get a 3DS with Ocarina of Time 3D or get Minecraft.

I know its a odd pair of choices, but there the two things that seem worth getting right now.

So what do you think? Im not bothered about the price difference, I just want something that I can play for a long time and keep me entertained.
Did you not see the news update yesterday? Legend of Zelda is being remade in Minecraft! So just buy minecraft and you're sorted!

Minecraft, unless you like headaches.

Seriously, that $10-20 game alone will give you countless hours of fun gameplay and multiplayer, whereas the +$400 3ds will give you countless hours of eyestrain and headaches. No real original and good games on the 3ds anyway, just shovelware and remakes.

What kind of question is this? Get Minecraft, one of the best and most original games of the past few years or get a 3DS, a gimmick of a system that costs $200 more, has nearly no games, and gives you headaches when you play it...

Seems like a pretty easy decision to me.

Get the 3DS for the following reasons:

1: There will be more games to come out for it. A system that plays a bunch of games or just one game? Simple math.

2: It's portable. You can play it anywhere. Personal recommendation: shut off the 3D as soon as you can, makes the battery last a hell of a lot longer.

3: If you can afford a 3DS now, odds are it won't be long before you're able to afford Minecraft again.

Also, this is a bad site to ask anything Nintendo related...

I love Ocarina of Time, even on the 3DS, but I'd have to say Minecraft.... unless you've never played OoT.

This poll confuses me. How would we be conflicted in choosing to buy a 3ds or Minecraft? Unless this is more of a situation where a guy could give you one or the other for free, in which case obviously a 3ds, since anyone could come up with the money for minecraft easily, you'd be getting a better deal. If you have to buy your choice still, then the people who have the money and want one will probably get the 3ds and just wait one more week to find a 20 for minecraft. Otherwise, if you don't have the money right now for one, you'll just say minecraft. Plus Minecraft is just one really good game while the 3ds is a console. This really makes no scene as a poll to me.

God damn it, I just noticed another person accuse Nintendo of making Other M. Nintendo didn't make Metroid: The other M. People need to stop hating nintendo for that game. Also, I feel like that game is starting to get blown out of proportion. Sure it's a bad game, but people are starting to treat it like it's Highlander 2 levels of bad, I mean Nintendo has made worse games, I don't get what it is about this game, which wasn't even made by Nintendo and they made sure people knew about that before it came out, that make people just RAEG so hard on them for. There's a difference between developing, and publishing. It's like saying Nintendo made Zelda for the CDi. If you're gonna hate on Nintendo for one thing, at least pick the Virtual Boy.

Buy both :D

Minecraft is a fantastic game, whilst the 3DS has multiple games available for it!

Minecraft isn't that expensive anyway!

Minecraft. Nintendo likes to fuck it's customers over with EULAs that sap your rights.
Sorry to jack the thread, but i find this highly interesting.. Could you provide a link to the terms in question?
I can't find the terms themselves, probably because Nintendo would rather you not find them until after purchasing and agreeing to them, but I did find this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.284718-Anti-DRM-Group-Aims-Bricks-At-Nintendo].

The 3DS' terms are so draconian they can't even be upheld in Europe. What they're doing is renting it to you but telling you you bought it, then just flipping you off if you have the gall to treat it as your own device.
Well, the whole renting part is nothing new.. Apple is especially known for this, like many other companies..

Not that it makes it any less fucked up...

I bought the 3DS yesterday, and i didnt see anything suspicious in the terms, but maybe i should take a second look..

If you have the money get the 3DS. Minecraft is only 20 dollars and you can easily get that much money in a short amount of time.

I must be playing it wrong. I haven't gotten a headache from playing it yet with the 3D on.
