according to an interview that notch had with PC gamer, he plans on introducing a leveling system to minecraft, as well as Terraria-like bosses.

http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/07/22/minecraft-could-get-terraria-style-bosses-says-notch/?ns_campaign=article-feed&ns_mchannel=ref&ns_source=steam&ns_linkname=0&ns_fee=0

What is your take on this new development? Do you like the idea of minecraft becoming more like an Rpg? Do I need to throw out milk if it expired on the 9th?

I just hope I don't accidentally summon herobrine.

The bosses in the aether mod were great so if he goes down that route it should be awesome

I think the game would benefit a lot from being more dynamic and trying to distance itself from the "lone warrior" type of gameplay. Still, I hope Mojang will eventually start paying more attention to the multiplayer component of the game.

I think this would fit a lot better in a whole other gameplay mode. Say, instead of "Survival", how about "RPG"? It's easier to find stuff, but mobs spawn constantly and bosses appear from time to time.

I'd quite like to see how the levelling would be implemented - I could get alongside that idea quite happily. Bosses though? Personally I've never liked bosses in games. So one good and one bad piece of news there, leading to an overall score of meh.

And your milk should be fine.

Would be interesting to see this introduced.

Certainly would add something more interesting to Minecraft, but I have no bloody idea how the leveling would work.

I'd like bosses, dungeons, towns, npc's, exp.

Sadly, according to Notch, when you die you lose all your exp which saddens me (I die alot[/])

Just smell it man. If you can smell it, throw it out. If it's up in the air, drink a bit. If it's not sour, drink more... cause you can!

Keep in mind, sometimes milk can crust around the rim of the bottle and will smell sour despite the milk being fine. Used to think it was plastic bits.

I don't care about minecraft, I have a busy schedule.

Never played either of them so i'm going for hidden option "both games should have Godzilla eating things".

From what I've seen of Terraria, no. Boss-class enemies would be cool, but not of that kind of power. Besides, all you get in Minecraft are swords and arrows. In Terraria you get magic and shuriken.

Levelling, though, would be nice. Longer breath and health meters and less falling damage. Higher strength with tools would make diamond obsolete though. Oh there's an idea! The more often you craft an item, slowly the more durable it turns out. Not by a massive amount, but noticeably. Like flint and steel lasting twice as long.
