I play lawfull good, i just find it really difficult to be a dick when given the choice in games. Even when it's probably not how i would choose if the situation was real. end of MEII comes to mind...

Some of my roleplay characters are so evil, Satan himself would come out of hell, tip his hat and hands me the job application of next Ruler of the Damned.

While that might be a bit over-exaggerated, I usually do go for the puppy devouring, back stabbing, pathological, bloodthirsty, homicidal, maniac.

Why, you ask?
Well, because a) I like to roleplay, and mostly something that is totally not like me.
In Real Life I'm a goody-two-shoe who rather hurts himself then someone else.
and b) It's usually fucking awesome.

Honestly, you cannot tell me you didn't smirk when you blew up Megaton.
When you punched the reporter.
When you run over the prostitute that just made your stolen car shake and returned your health, just to steal the money back.

In fable 2, theres a side mission where some dr frankenstein wants to zap back lady grey.

Needless to say, i stole her from his undying love, because i wanted some zombie babies.

Neutral: I do all the good deeds & none of the evil ones, but I also ransack houses & steal anything not bolted down.
So... you're an objectivist sort of hero.

Hmm.... Actually... stealing whatever isn't nailed down is the ONLY common trait of any of my characters. They all tend to be pretty diverse.

I chose neutral but mainly because there is no difference in whatever "class" you are apart from if you're pure good, you can't afford anything, if you're neutral or evil, you can steal everything and sell it...personally I'd love to be a travelling rogue who is motivated by money but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO no one wants to ask me to do quests, I have to run around town asking each individual person if they want me to do anything for them, hmph why won't people come find me and ask me to do something interesting, NO I DON'T WANNA GO LOOK FOR YOUR HUSBAND DO IT YOURSELF!
I think questing is another reason I tend to play the good guy. If someone comes up to you and asks for help, your standard baddie response is "Go screw yourself with a turnip", which may well cause you to lose the quest. By extension, you lose XP and loot. I made this mistake a couple of times in Dragon Age when I was still trying to be bad; I'd be sarcastic or rude when people asked for help, so they'd tell me to get lost.

Quests must be particularly galling for those who want to play an evil character, because about 80-90% of the time they involve helping someone. Sure, you can point and laugh when they announce that goblins stole their children, but it does mean you get none of the benefits that rescuing the kids would bring. The game is, in a way, forcing you to do good deeds.
Exactly, thus forcing everyone to play as a good guy who steals everything so you can get enough money for good weapons and can do quests.

Oblivion and Fallout are very much examples of this, the bomb in Megaton for example, you do the good way, you get nothing, bad, you get loads of cash.
In Oblivion, quests barely pay anything and the only way to get money is to rob stuff or spend a stupid amount of time in Oblivion gates,if I'm role playing as anything other than a hero or a serial burglar, it's impossible to get any substantial amount of money as my character wouldn't steal and most definitely not wanna spend more time than needed in Oblivio.

That sort of behaviour is almost hard-wired into me by games as Zelda and Final Fantasy.
You walk in a random house, steal their rupees and Gil and talk about the weather before you leave.

I try to be as neutral as I can. When it comes down to it, the good extreme is just as bad as the evil extreme.
Fallou 3's moral choice system is a little underdeveloped but it works well.

Though in ME2 I tend to go more paragon because the system isn't really good or evil in that game; It's more like "normal" and "dickhead".

Yeah, i played the ME1 and it was just like

"Hey shepard, you look good today."

A. "Thanks"
B. "I'd rather not get involved in a relationship, as i am a robot, beep."
C. "I WILL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL!"

Depends on the character I'm playing. I like to have an idea of who they are before the game starts, at least in some way (and they're usually a bit of a jokey stereotypical character to make it more fun), and just play like that.

Shepherd in my Mass Effect games looks a hell of a lot like Dick Winters from Band of Brothers, so I was often playing fairly similarly to how he would, with some of my own philosophies thrown into the mix.

I'm a D&D nerd so I try to make a "what would she/he really do in this situation" mental check in my head, Weirdly It normally makes me good or neutral which is weird I find seeing as sometimes im pretty brutal and rude lol.

For me it was Oblivion and Fallout 3.
Of course, with those games, since A) I'm only decent at stealth in any game, and B) the stealth in both games was a little weak... this meant that I generally had two options when I was almost inevitably caught: Either run my stupid ass out of there and wait for the AI to forget I had done anything, or kill them and hoped no one would notice the smell of a fresh corpse.

When i played fallout 3 i was basically playing as myself. And i did what I would do in all situations. as a result I ended up with the highest karma level. It sucked, but I'm just waaaay too nice to play Fallout. so the next time I played through I tried to keep myself Neutral. It was OK. I honestly don't think i would be able to be Evil. It's just not my nature.

I'm level 5 paragon and level one renegade. Normally I'm a pretty nice guy, but please dear God, don't piss me off. I punched the reporter, head-butted the Krogan, set the other Krogan on fire, shot Tom Reed in the face, spared Megaton, and saved every Little Sister. I'm complicated.

I always be a good character but I hate following the law in games, so I suppose (if you use D&D alignments) I'm chaotic good. Normally I play through again as an evil character anyway, except in Mass Effect where I just can't bring myself to be bad to my crew, I always end up their friend.

Most of the time I'm instinctively good.
When I played Fallout 3 I started as a good character.
I later made another save as a bad one. After I got the dream breaker perk (that you get from saying the survival guide will hurt people) I said "What the hell am I doing" and made that character good too. I just can't play as a dick.

I mix it up. Multiple run throughs give you all possibilities after all. A lot of the douchebag options in Dragon Age cracked me right the hell up, actually. So I made a mage to be a complete and utter dick. Was it worth it? Yes. I laughed a lot. I hate Jowan, so that was gloriously awesome.

Will I be able to be mean to some of the people in my party? Probably not. Fuck everyone else though.

Just because you're evil doesn't mean you can't have favorites, I say.
