Too bad there's no moral choice of actually being the anti-hero of the land (which is mostly neutral with a hint of evil). Other than that, I'd go for evil since i'm pretty much a lazy bum and asshole to many.
I have to agree very few games let you play Yojimbo or the Man with No Name style which is too bad because I love the idea of playing both sides. The Witcher got close but didn't really let you pit each side against each other very effectively. Oh well I can still hope that someday someone will make a game where you can be the Badass Gunman/Swordman who comes to town to make a buck then leaves the town in ruins as he played everyone against each other.

I generally pick good side on my first playthrough, then evil to see what happens when I gut the innocent bystander instead of politely asking how their day is going.

However my favorite moral choices are the ones without clear good/evil options.

Such as: Fallout 3 Pitt

In Fallout 3, Pitt DLC, you have the option of either stealing a baby and murdering her parents to aid a large group of slaves, or leaving the baby with it's parents and dooming the slaves to eternal servitude.

I actually had to sit and ponder the above for a good 5-10 minutes before I came to a decision, that is a true moral choice in my opinion, as it represents a realer scenario, where good and evil aren't divided by a strict line, but blurred together.

Fallout 3 almost came close. It had good karma setting management since you can do ANYTHING you want to finish an objective, whether giving him something in return for the item, or just slaughter it away from him. But there were never any perks that supported the "slightly evil" karma settings.

As for karma settings, I'd rather just want games to have NO karma setting and just have a different measurement of how people treat you in the way you acted in different missions.

I play twice.

Usally evil first so I can make mistakes.
Actually, that's a really good idea. I've always tried to achieved good ending first.. but that usually leads to having to use a guide.
I ought to try this next time.

Let's say if I save this orphan hospital, I will unlock a new RPG on my arm, and if I kill this doggy, I will get a rusty shovel. Of course I will take the RPG-Arm!
What ever choice gives me the best Stufff, is the choice I make. Seeing how greed is part of evil, I chose evil in the pole.

I'm almost always good on my first playthrough. Sometimes I'll do second playthrough to do the evil side, but I usually just end up neutral. I just can't bring myself to be the evil douchebag the game requires.

Except in Oblivion, where your choices don't matter. Dark Brotherhood all the way!!!

I almost never evil, and even, i have found, when i try to be evil, i just end up straying from evil and being good.

Then there are sometimes when I diggiantly be evil, and I must say I'd rather be good, I take those chocies as I would in real life.

Oblivion it seem for me, is the only game where i can be a compleat douche, I litterly went to Anvil, and killed everyone there. Then i stole a whole bunch of shit soled it to the last guy alive and then killed him.

The first Fable I was also kind of evil, I mean I took the sword at the end, but for the greater good, so really in my oppion it wasnt a bad choice

I think the problem comes down to are you more of a douche when it's a real player on the other side of the keyboard, rather than an NPC?
It's funny how people feel bad being a douche against NPCs, but are perfectly willing to camp my corpse for over an hour in WoW.

i f*king hate them...they just show me how uninspired the game im playing really is and when it comes to god/evil choice it usually pisses me off enough to quit playing the game.
I mean really i try to play a character that is not bland and obvious and they throw a kill or not kill this guy without another option like ignore him / take his stuff/ tell him to kill his Friend or whatever i'm gonna stop being immersed.
I would much rather prefer a game to tell me you can go and do what we have imagined in a linear but fun way, or go pick leaves of plants and laugh

Games I play with friends such as D&D, or Vampire the Masquerade I usually play an evil character. But in videogames I usually stick to good because most games have everyone and everything turn on you at the drop of a hat and it gets to be a pain in the ass. You can never be a bully or anything in a game, punch some one in Fallout 3 the town wants you dead.

I usually attempt good, realise that no one actually thanks you and takes you for granted and so turn round and pile a load of electricity or whatever into their face

fun times:)

You might have added two options: "I play both, but the good side first", and "the bad side first". I usually play both and the good side first.

I tend to just follow the game and choose the choice that appeals to me the most, whether it turns out to be good or bad. I for one think that slapping labels on your actions in a game like Fallout 3, for example, just ruins the whole experience. I could have done without the karma ranks in that game.

Always a Evil as possible. Why would I want to save the elves from extinction? Even if I there wasn't a humongous bag of gold which I could take instead?

Always evil, evil is just more fun. Too bad games never have your decisions actually influence the world. Good is usually viewed as being more difficult because you can't just take what you want, but I think designers just need to make a game where you can turn into an actual hated outlaw/villain, then we'll see how easy evil is ^_^

Morality should not be used in video games. Morality is an opinion. I may think that saving the kid from the fire is better than saving the old man, but the guy who made the game could think otherwise, therefore, I get docked "good" points because I did what I thought was right.

Morals are opinions, and my opinions are sure to not always be the same as someone else's.
