They'd better make a good new game instead of spending time and resources on doing the same thing twice.
Maybe yes, but (I'm being honest, don't flame me) the graphics are so outdated that it might as well have been made a decade ago. Also, what made the most recent TES game (Oblvion) so awesome IMO was the physics, I mean seeing a ragdoll tumbling down a hill or filling a lake with watermelons or filling a house with shields etc. is so much more fun than watching a static death scene. However I liked Morrowind's story a lot and enjoyed most of the gameplay in it, so while remaking it may not be a practical move, it would definitely get customers according to my poll.Dr Spaceman said:Wait... Yeah, I see what you mean. You're right, physics simulating in games has gotten so much better since Half-Life 2 (2004) that it is pretty jarring to play an older game where the developers couldn't do that sort of thing. I suppose I feel the same way about Deus Ex the way you do about Morrowind: love the game, it's just hard to play when you know the technical side of it could be so much sharper today.Eggsnham said:Maybe yes, but (I'm being honest, don't flame me) the graphics are so outdated that it might as well have been made a decade ago. Also, Morrowind still looks great! Say what you will about dated graphics but looking out on the sea on a star lit night in Vvardenfell was one of the most gorgeous things ever. And, honestly, it still is. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the visuals.high_castle said:Nope. I loved Morrowind just the way it is. I get that you don't like it, but tough nuts, man. You won't like everything out there.
I don't understand why we have to remake something that was already great. So you didn't like it. Oh well. Some people don't like Casablanca, but it's still a classic and should remain untouched (as I write this, someone at Hollywood is having the brilliant idea to do just this, I'm sure). Morrowind was ahead of its time. Its game engine was cutting edge when it came out. Sorry if you don't like playing older games, man.
Frankly, I'm afraid of what would happen if Morrowind were remade. I mean, did you play oblivion? It was horrible. Crap voice acting, visuals that were just meh, and a story I couldn't like no matter how much I tried. Morrowind had compelling characters, a great thematic arc, and a style of its own. Don't change it, you'll just break what was good about it.
