The problem is that it's still an illegal thing to posess in Australia, I had friend who had bought Manhunt with a credit card and police came by to confiscate their copies.EzraPound said:It's so stupid about Australia. It won't happen, but if NetherRealms and Warner Bros. can't sell the game in Australia, they should release it for free over PSN and XBLA just to miff the government.Jelly ^.^ said:I would let you know if it was legal for me to get my hands on it >.<
How do you even police that in world where people can download games, either legally or illegally? Is it illegal to distribute the game for free? Do they take your PS3 if you download it? Do they confiscate your computer if you pirate it? How would you know who pirated it?Jelly ^.^ said:The problem is that it's still an illegal thing to posess in Australia, I had friend who had bought Manhunt with a credit card and police came by to confiscate their copies.EzraPound said:It's so stupid about Australia. Manhunt was given an MA15+ rating and sold here briefly before it became RC material and illegal. The copies that could be tracked down, i.e. the ones that had been bought with debit and credit cards were tracked, confiscated, refunded at retail purchase value and disposed of. Videogames don't make it into Australian news, guys.Cowabungaa said:Wait...what?! That's new to me. Well, there's another convening of the Attornies General soon, hopefully the Lib fucknut in WA will break party line and pull the cross out of his arse so we can stop being a nanny/police state.Cowabungaa said:I knew it was illegal to sell it, but own it?! Just read Mortal Kombat was also illegal to import in 'stralia. And I ever thought of moving there...that's China levels of censorship.
