I'll say mine down here as it isn't an option in the poll, but I have a strong dislike for multiplayer-centric games. Not MMO's, I haven't yet played one long enough to judge. But I dislike it when the single-player portion of a game is compromised in favor of the multiplayer, as not everyone can play the game multiplayer.
I would have to agree on that because I would rather listen to a wonderful story while fighting through new and exiting area rather than fight through the same area over and over again with someone yelling and calling me a "noob".

Sports and fighters are probably my least favorites, but I make exceptions (skateboarding games and Dissidia).

If you had JRPG up there I'd have hit it. It's not because of the turn base or the andro-males (though both certainly help it along) but the fact that all of the stories are exactly the god damn same. It's like having a space marine in a shooter. Screw that.

Second down is sports, because I actually happen to like Hockey games for some reason but I'd never spend my money on one.

racing and sports, i mean, for crying out loud people, if you like sports so much, go outside and play the damn game your willing to fork out 60 bucks for. heres an idea for all you idiots that buy Maddin over and over and over again, spend the 10$, go buy a football and make some friends, then you can get in shape, and have 50$ left over to take a girl out on a date or somthing.

Awww.. poor sports. I liked playing NFL Superstar...

I chose racing as my most disliked, but then again Road Rash and Mario Kart are pretty bitchin' games so... it's a tough call.

Sports I say. Look at football/soccer/... games. All the game is [insert color here] bunch of guys vs [insert color here] bunch of guys.
Anyway I know a guy who played only 1 game for his entire life: FIFA. And he still plays it.

It was close between 'Sports' and 'Fighter' for me, but I did used to enjoy Mortal Kombat on my Mega Drive back in the day, and I liked Soul Blade and MK3 on the PS1 so I had to go with sports as the only 2 'sports' games I ever remember liking were Soccer Boss on the ZX Spectrum and Sensible Soccer on the Sega Mega Drive - and they were not exactly ultra-realistic simulations.

I was surprised to discover that Sports, as I post this, is by far in the lead. I guess for me (being a bit of a athletically-challenged geek) sport in RL has never had any real appeal, either to watch or play, and that carries over into computer games.

All video-gaming is role-playing. If you are in control of a form of intelligence that isn't you, you are role-playing. But yeah, sports is definately a valid genre, and my least favourite are point and click adventures, I just don't find them fun.

I wonder how many people were torn between choosing Sports and Racing, and then remembered either Mario Kart, Wipeout, or Road Rash, and went with Sports. I know I did.

I don't like sports games, but I'm not really convinced by the argument of, "I could just play the sport". If I play a Total War game, I could also just join the SCA. I could take karate for a fighter, I could watch a movie for a Point and Click, I could play paintball for an FPS. And I could very easilly love the game version, and not like the real world counterpart. There's something else going on here, pushing sports to the top of the dislike list. Something that separates the mechanic/dynamic/aestetic framework of sports from the MDA framework of other kinds of games.
