Sports. I just don't see the point of playing a video game version of something I can (potentially at least) play in real life. Its also true for racing, but to a much lesser extent.

I don't hate anyone particular genre in the gaming industry i just find some that are boring and not fun for my taste which is SPORTS!
I play sports with my friends outside and its hell a lot more fun then playing it as a game.

I'd vote JRPG's.

Lots of hating on sports, pretty difficult to "just go and play" some icehockey at any time of the year, and dont forget about all the gear you need.

I voted RPG but my real vote goes towards JRPG's. I would rather spend hours micro-managing my chain of grocery stores in Capitalism II than diddle with the overly dull JRPG's!

Sport games. Why would you want it in a video game if you could go do it for real with no repercussions?

Sports games hands down, what a waste of effort. They have no inherent strategy or depth, but most importantly, they're boring as hell...kind of like watching real sports. What a no-brainer.

Sports. It's just the same damn thing over and over again. I would like the genre if they did something different.

Sports games, it always seemed backwards to me. If I wanted to play a sport, I would go play the sport, not a video game about the sport.

I don't really care for third person shooter games either. Some third-person games are good, such as Mass Effect or Army of Two, but most of the time they are just annoying.

The Madden series is just Football with a new roster, but people buy it still each year (like my little brother).

Racing.

I still like games like Gran Turismo. But when I think about these genres and think about which one I would be most likely to play, it would be a Racing game

Wait, I didn't notice sports was there. Change one of the votes for strategy to that.

Also, I don't like most fighters too much since I suck at them. And methinks JRPG's would get a lot of votes if they were an option.

Sports, because you feel end up feeling disappointed with yourself for playing games of the genre rather than going outside to play real sports with friends.

Fighters, BY FAR. I have never understood the appeal - one friend of mine enjoys them because there is strategy involved; it takes time to learn the moves of each character, and find out which moves work best against which character, etc. However, not all fighters are made in a balanced way, and there is more often than not one or two characters who are so overpowered that they wipe the floor with every other character.

Still, that's not my biggest complaint - the entire game is played on a 2D platform with some back and forth punching in rounds that last no longer than 90 seconds. Stories, if they ever exist, are weak and ignorable. These games just seem so flat and transparent (appropriate, considering what one sees when they play the game) and have no intrinsic value as games whatsoever. In other words, they FAIL.... really, REALLY hard.
