Invest in screens? Do British people not do screens? I can sit in open-windowed comfort and mock them as they flutter ineffectually in the window
We are not like whatever peasant country you come from :D

We do not fight nature, for nature doesn't really try that hard in our neck of the woods.

Not like Australia. Australia won't ever stop trying to kill you.
I am from America, the nation ingenious enough to weave a fine metal mesh and place it in windows for the purpose of simultaneously opening a window and turning on a light at night without inviting in half the living creatures in your county to come in and enjoy it. We do not fight nature, for we have triumphed years ago. Except for the bears, but the bear-proof screens are surely on their way

I'm in Texas in the states and I am a bit besieged by the fluttering bastards but I don't really mind them too much. For the most part they stay on the ceiling and don't bother me. They don't bite so I don't mind when one lands on me, I just get him onto my hand and set him away somewhere, usually the wall....the only thing that really bothers me is when they land on my back and I get a ticklish feeling for no reason. That freaks me out cause I'm thinking "WHO THE FUCK IS TOUCHING ME?!"

But then again, I have a cat who likes to chase them about so maybe she's keeping them away for the most part so you probably have it worse than I Hazy.

You know, I can think of one thing worse than moths invading your home, and that's mosquitoes invading your home.

Goddammit I hate those things, and the hot, humid weather brings them out.

But more on topic, I hate moths also. Thankfully we only have relatively small ones here which can be easily dealt with using fly spray.
OMG you've got a new avatar! When did that happen?

You know what we did to our bears?

We sent them on a boat to colonise the Americas.

Has your mind been blown?

I could say the same about you!

I changed mine, ohhhhh, about 4 or 5 days ago?
There haven't really been any threads that I've felt like posting in, in that time, so it's no surprise that people are just starting to notice the change now :)

Why change? I got bored of the old one, which is a shame really, it was probably one of the most recognized avatars on this site by now.
Not nearly as huge and recognisable as my penis ego penis avatar.

Hahaha true! ;)

Both avatars are cool :D I'll just have to get used to this one cause like you said, the old one was so recognisable.

Annoyed the living hell out of me in my dorms, my room mate went to sleep early and my monitor was basically the only light, and the lil ones liked buzzing around it and the lamp near it. Lots of them.

I hate them, but only because they are fucking annoying and fly in front of my monitor or wake me up with their annoying "look i am a moth i crash into shit!" ways

Moths? That seems like one of most harmless pests you can have.
I remember when I was in between moving from an apartment to a house. I crashed at a friend's apartment for about a month and a half. He was disgusting. The apartment was was disgusting. I'd go to make coffee in the morning and a dozen roaches would just scatter from under it.

And there were ants too. A line of them would occasionally marching through the kitchen.

And then there are spiders. I've spotted a few Brown Recluses. I reeeeaallly don't want to ever get bitten by one of those. I could never be an Australian...

They aren't as bad as spiders. Seriously, almost sprayed an entire bug killing spray thingo trying to kill one and you know what, it still didn't die! I called it zombie spider.

How do you fear something so weak?

It'd be like a phobia of tumbleweeds or grass.

They have literally made our room their home. We can't get rid of them. We are infested.

I hate moths with a passion like no other.

This reminds me of something that happened at school the other day.
One of the ladies in our SSC is terrified of moths, and one got trapped in her car and she walked home from the pub because of it. So the next day, one of the IT teachers went to her computer, switched the wallpaper to one of an army of moths and placed various word files and stuff over it so she couldn'tt see it. Long story short, I was signing in and just as I was about to leave the SSC I heard a massive scream. She'd just seen the wallpaper. It was hilarious.

I refuse to answer the Poll, I won't be glorifying you Hazy!

OT: I'm not bothered about moths, they are harmless enough.

My sister on the other hand, her main phobia is of Moths, it's fucking hilarous!

As a Biology graduate I was astounded and appalled at the slight majority in favour of hating moths. What's wrong with you pansies?! They're invaluable night-time pollinators and frankly look pretty fucking cool.

Man up and show some love for your local arthropods.
