I'd have to disagree with this.
Motion control can only create immersion (assuming the motion control system works great) with games that, if viewed as real life events, can be done by the average person.
And even then it'd be up for debate. I've never felt as immersed playing Wii bowling as I was when only moving my fingers playing any other game.
This pretty much limits the potential of motion control to sports games and cheap arcade-like aiming systems that give people carpal-tunnel (the Wii version of Modern Warfare comes to mind).
Fighting games, shooters, and any game where combat involves something more flamboyant than what a fat guy could do in his living room would have to be watered down.
Motion controls might work for some sort of exercise system (going back to Wii sports), but for all other types of games, it's just a cheap gimmick.
OT: aside from that, who said the Wii wasn't a console? Maybe not a
good console but that is beside the point. I've personally seen it as an oblong GameCube that can run Super Smash Brothers: Brawl with a useless side feature for other games I'd never play.
