on my computer mouse I use extremely high sensitivity, because i want to be able to go from one end of the screen to the other with a small movement of my wrist.

I was on a LAN the other day and because my computer hates every other computer besides itself i couldn't connect to any of my friend's LAN games on WC3. so i borrowed my friend's computer and he used, what felt like no sense at all. my hand hurt after i had used his computer for half an hour, because his sense was so fucking low.

why do you use high/low sensitivity?

i know this might be a bit tricky to answer for some, because there no clear definitions on what is high and what is low.

I'm one of those weirdos who likes mouse acceleration. I can precisely aim or do pirouettes with the same level of sensitivity.

I just checked the default settings and it's like 9/10's of the way up, on games it usually carries over to about that. I get pissed off when you've got to drag it around too, on this 19" monitor I have to move my mouse like two thirds of an inch to get from one corner to the other.

I have an incredibly high mouse sensitivity setting. It's to the point that when I have friends use my PC they have a really hard time controlling the mouse movements because it's so sensitive.

I always have to turn mine down low. I am too twitchy to play well on a high setting... I just end up spinning around in circles and derping across the map.

Mine's just set at medium.

I think for Valve games I keep it turned pretty damn low.
And with me consistently killing more zombies than the rest of my teams combined in Left 4 Dead 2....I guess that's the right setting.

My mouse has three DPI settings. I have it set to 4000, 3000, and 2000 DPI. I switch between them depending on what I do. I used to have it set at 4000, 3000, and 800 for sniping but now I have one of the thumb buttons set to switch between full sensitivity and 20% sensitivity. Much more ergonomic than the buttons on top of the mouse.

I like mine a little low compared to most people i know. Maybe 5% above default? When i play an FPS i have to turn it up slightly, but all other types of games i keep it either normal, or slightly below normal for greater control.

Personally, I like high mouse sensitivity, but that's prolly due to my fine motor skills being more tied to my hands than my wrist or arm. I don't like having to flail around to get anywhere on the screen.

Same for me.

With high sensitivity, I end up spending much longer trying to get the cursor where I want it. Easier for me to just move the mouse farther.

My mouse is on about 7/10. I got a new mouse just 2 days ago and my old mouse settings made it feel too slow. Does different hardware have a different "base" speed or was it a trick of the mind?

Same here. The moment I hear something that I even think might be behind me, I would end up getting dizzy from the spinning if my sensitivity wasn't very low.

10/10, mostly from my days playing Starcraft and having to order around lots of units in a short amount of time.

I like having the mouse DPI set really high and then turning the sensitivity fairly low on the software side (in game, that is). You get very accurate mouse movement, and keeping the overall sensitivity still pretty high means you can be pretty precise by controlling the moues primarily with finger movements.
