I hated that movie the first time I saw it. After that, it grew on me. It's one of my favorites now ^_^
The movie isn't 'stupid' at all :| I reject your poll options, it was a great movie.
The visuals were fantastic, the actors were great and the whole thing was just fun! The ending was also very sweet, and I loved how they revealed what the 5th element really was. No one ever spelled it out exactly, and the first time I didn't get it. When I finally did, it seemed so simple and perfect. Very few movies follow the 'show, don't tell' rule anymore.

it was a bit manic at times and hilarious and randomly serious but i loved it had to watch it 3 times to figure out what was going on but still love it
I wouldn't say stupid, but certainly goofy as hell, and purposefully so. I thought it was great, and I think it was a great swan song as one of the last sci-fi movies that I can think of that didn't over CGI everything. Sure, it had a healthy dose of CG, but you just don't see many movies that use puppets or full costumes for aliens anymore. It's all computer generated in some way.
On a side note, my friends still reference that movie...if somebody owes someone else some money, or is settling up a bar bill, it is not unheard of to hear "GIMME THE CASH!"
