I just wished he had more self-control over his "fanboyism". It's really starting to strip away his credibility as a critic, and the last couple of years haven't been good to him in that department.
At least I'm not the only one that thinks so.

The Big Picture allows Bob more free range, and a free range Bob is a very bad thing.

My vote goes to that other show.

I watch both for entertainment purposes more than information.
I like hearing people's audio opinnions on movies.
I also like learning at how messed up comics are and other obscure things. I like Moviebob except when he does the voice-changer (e.g. TV IS WEIRD, COMICS ARE WEIRD, MOVIES ARE WEIRD, IN 3 DDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEE). But, thoes bonegrinding annoyances are shadowed by the enjoyment of his videos.

I prefer The Big Picture.... Mainly because I don't watch Escape to the Movies all that much...

The Big Picture, as its more of a discussion than a review. And because I tend to disagree with a lot of Bob's movie reviews (he tends to gush over movies that don't really deserve it or despise movies that aren't that bad).

Short question: Which of MovieBob's shows here on The Escapist do you love/live/enjoy the most?
If you still can't decide just don't vote and express it in the comments.
Also say why you chose one over an other.
I watch Escape to the Movies more frequently, but I've found more overall brilliance and humility in The Big Picture, wherein he often looks at films in a broader sociological context, in much the same way as Extra Credits did with games, but more practically and less theoretically.

So The Big Picture.

Really The big picture, but G.O is what got me into Bob in the first place.

I tend to actually like the Big Pictures where he actually talks about something, unlike just recapping continuity, or does that horrible horrible 'x is weird' voice.

I like both. Some weeks I like Escape better, other weeks Big Picture. If he's doing a comic are weird episode, and a new Transformers movie has come out, then Escape wins. If the movie doesn't interest me, and he's doing Hollywood History, BP is better for the week.

Escape to the Movies, but that isn't saying much. He really has been deteriorating in quality.

He might as well rename The Big Picture to "Regurgitated Wikipedia Articles: The Show," to be quite frank.

I prefer BP because I already know enough about movies not to need his reviews.

It contains the line "From the producers who brought you The Hangover"? Yeah, that's a bad movie.

I like The Big Picture better because it's more like a video op-ed column and I like the way MovieBob approaches things. I'm not sure where people are getting his "fanboyism" from exactly, because he doesn't strike me as particularly obsessive in his chosen fields. At most, he displays some level of snobbery in his movie reviews, but many times such attitudes are warranted along the same lines of Yahtzee's complaints that Nintendo keeps making the same games over and over and over again for different consoles.

Big Picture. The Game Overthinker tops both, though (find it on screwattack.com; the fact that Bob had other shows here was what introduced me to The Escapist in the first place).

I watch both shows but I find The Big Picture to be a much more edifying experience and I already have other sources for film reviews more in line with my way of thinking such as The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw. I find some of his assessments to be rather baffling, though what makes a good reviewer in my mind is not the opinion expressed but the manner in which it is conveyed and for the most part I feel he articulates himself very well but I still feel that I take away more from TBP.

Escape to the Movies for sure. The Big Picture has some interesting stuff from time to time (loved this week's Yogi Bear's necktie), but for the most part it's about comics and other things that, while I respect and like, are a bit out of my personal scope of interest or on the very edge of it.

EttM is like Zero Punctuation - it's funny and enjoyable even when I'm not interested in the thing being reviewed, while being really informative when I need input on whether to play/see it.
