So I was looking thru my games earlier and I started noticeing that about 90% of them were single player. Either in that they only have a single player campaign with something like leaderboards or just co-op. I have a couple like Halo or Gears of War that most people play just for the multiplayer. Than I realized that I dont really like any of my multiplayer games. Their not bad per say I just realized that I prefer single player. So i was woundering which you like more? Single player (Force Unleashed, Bayonette, Mass Effect...etc) or Multiplayer (Halo, Call of Duty, Medal of Honer...etc).

Whatever, just wash your hands.
for the most part when I buy a game Im focused on the single player and a good multi is just a cherry on top, altho a few games I will get for the multi player, usually tho they are mainly multi focused, like unreal tounry 2004 or bad company 2 (yeah I know it had a decent single player but I got it mostly for multi)

I prefer single player. For me the story in a game is it's most important part and well... there isn't much story in multiplayer. Also, single player is more immersive. Enemies react more "realisticly", that is they don't jump around while shooting and they don't call you "teh n00b hacker".
I do like multiplayer when I just want to relax. Also I hate MMORPG's

Multiplayer, I can't even be bothered to complete the single player of most games. The storylines never interest me and I get bored within 10 minutes. The only exception is really fast paced games that change it up like COD, or sandboxes and RPG's like GTA and Oblivion. The latter I can play for years, anything else I don't really see the point in completing.

That's why I play MMORPG's!

They both have their days, but I value single player a lot more. Multiplayer just doesn't have as many options for good storytelling unfortunately :/

The vast majority of my games are single-player, and most of the multiplayer I do play is offline.
That sums up my viewpoint just fine.

Thank you, Unreal Tournament, for having multiplayer bots that are just as good as human players. *tips hat*

I always look for a good story, strong characters, and an original setting in my games, so multiplayer is a never for me. I've tried it; I didn't like it.

I'm a loner, so my choice is obvious.
Plus, multiplayer doesn't tend to have a good story or immersion if any and I play games for the story and immersion. Things aren't immersive when some twelve-year-old starts calling you a fag.

Single player requires thinking on the devs part.

Multiplayer requires money on the devs. part.

But i will go for SP any day. save for a few titles which could have been better off not existing at all. I'm looking at you Jericho.

I always prefer single player. There is so much more to it. Story, characters, gameplay, music everything. Multiplayer is nothing compared to single player, NOTHING!

I myself prefer single player over multiplayer, but it just so happens that there is an abundant supply of FPS games on the Xbox. The only reason I prefer single player is the fact that multiplayer pisses me off much more than single player.

Multi-player all the way. There is nothing like playing against a living, thinking opponent whether its RTS's or FPS's multi-player forces you to use differing strategies on the move and then of course there is the thrill as you obliterate your opponent and mock him mercilessly.

I enjoy a good single player game, but I find that a multiplayer cooperative game is much more fun. With xbox live the medium through which most games have you play with others, i miss the days of four people gathered around the tv together playing cooperatively.
