Huh. Nice to know I'm not an outdated old man for preferring single player. With all the talk, I honestly thought it'd be 98% MP.

I only really do TF2, and I hate hate hate that game (and yet can never quit for good).
And Diablo2 with a friend occasionally, if that counts.

In fact... "Multiplayer" means anonymous online gaming with/against 16 to 16million people who are mostly idiots. Playing with a friend is something else entirely if you ask me. That's not Multiplayer, that's Playing Together.

...
Better than Playing With Each Other I suppose :p

I play the COD games online when they come out, but besides that, most of the time single player single player.

Single for the most part.

I play games for the experience, not the teabagging - no matter how hilarious (and it is hilarious) it may be.

I chose single player.
If multiplayer had more depth than just running about killing people than I may be more inclined to change my mind.

I prefer... all the above.

Single player is fun for games made for it and multi player is fun for games made for it, it just depends on the game in my opinion.

It's all about single player
If I wanted to be called a fag I'd wear a pink tank top

there are only 3 games I own that have multyplayer
Rock band
Soul Calibur
and
Halo

EDIT: I also have TF2 but only because it was an extra thrown in to the Orange Box

I think single player is more important. After all everyone can play the single player, but not every one can play multiplayer.

single player. Multiplayer game can be fun but most of the time I prefer single player, there are so must more value in them for me.

I like to play with myself.
I think it'd be more enjoyable for us both if we played with each other.

OT: Multiplayer takes my fancy over single-player, most of the time. NPCs don't feed my ego.

Doing the single player campaign with online co-op with a trusted mate can be an utter riot with the right game.

But generally I'd have to go for a good decent length single player game. You're not sticking your head in the fan every time you create a game online i.e depending on the online community for the game will determine if they're decent people out for a friendly game or intent or ruining yours

I've kinda steered myself away from games that have a large online component such as FPS and such and have found respite in single player titles such as Vanquish and Castlevania

I like a good variety of both, but I guess I like single player a little bit more. That's what I remember when I look back at a game, and while I probably spend more time on multiplayer and have more fun with that, the experience from a really good single player game just can't be beat.

Back then when I discovered the awesomeness of online multiplayer thanks to Halo 2,3 and CoD4 I actually preferred multiplayer and refused to buy any more solely single player games because I thought I would "get bored of them after beating them".

Obviously later I realized this was not the case.

Today I no longer enjoy online multiplayer as much, maybe it's the games, because I always had a blast with Halo 3 and CoD 4 but hated MW 2 and Resistance 2. So single player will always be my first priority.
