I'm not Muse's biggest fan, but I have to say, they put on a fucking good show.
U2 I couldn't care less about, they bore the pants off me.

Having seen both, i recommend Muse over U2. U2 put on an excellent show though still.

That said, ideally what you ought to do is first build a time machine, travel back in time to their Black Holes and Revelations tour (or just any time before they released The Resistance) and see them then instead, because The Resistance and everything else post BLaR is shithouse.
LOL

although i'd go back to before BHaR but thats just me (I saw them on their BHaR tour and those album tracks were the only thing stoppping the gig from being perfect)

U2, their back catalogue is sooooo good. They may have lost the plot recently and disappeared up their own asses but let's put it this way
I Will Follow
11 'o' Clock Tick Tock
Sunday Bloody Sunday
New Year's Day
(Pride) In The Name of Love
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Where the Streets Have No Name
One Tree Hill
With or Without You
One
Mysterious Ways
Beautiful Day (shut up, whatever you think of them this is a great song)

All are classics. Muse are great, U2 are among the greatest ever.

Muse put an Epic show on, I saw them at Wembley Stadium 3 years ago and it was awesome. I'm going again on Saturday and I can't wait.
Also, I didn't realise anyone actually liked U2.
Me too! the balloons with the acrobats, beautiful

I was hoping for the Escapist forum users opinion on which concert I should go to.
I'm going to make you feel really silly, but you'll be glad I did. According to my sources...

http://wots-on.info/whats-on/?in=Perth-WA-Australia&start=70

U2 is on the 18th.

Muse is on the 19th.

Go to both. Have fun.

(I've seen both bands and I didn't like either, but then I'm not a fan of either so I wouldn't listen to my opinion if I were you)
I didn't buy the tickets and both the tickets are for the 19th. I was told U2 sold out of 18th in an hour.

Although I haven't seen either (or in fact any) band live, I've heard from many sources that Muse are the greatest live band since Queen. So yeah... MUSE.
Now thats saying something.
It's true and i've seen Queen, Muse were maybe a little better too

Hey, I'm from Perth too!

It's a hard choice, but I'd say U2, simply because I'm more familiar with their music.

U2, because I don't listen to Muse. Not sure if I even know any of their songs.

U2 sucks, Muse rocks, super easy decision to me.

I saw Muse play at the United Center in Chicago, the show was just awesome.

Haha. I love the poll results on this one. Muse. Resoundingly.

Here's what you do. Take both tickets, sell them, and go buy yourself a ticket to a Slayer concert and be a man while having one of the best times of your life! Gwar works too and is much cheaper.
Also a great idea. Seeing them next March! Fucking Soundwave. Wooooooooooo!
Sorry, have to get that out of my system once in a while. Nothing wrong with Muse though.
ALSO IRON MAIDEN!!!!
EDIT: Just realised he's from Perth. Soundwave is also accessible to you... You could totally do this.

I hate Muse

*ducks behind asbestos shield*

so I'm not gonna recommend them.
But U2 are considered up there with the Rolling Stones and AC/DC as the best live bands. Check out their stage on the internet. They don't give you a concert, they give you a fucking experience.

I suggest U2. Muse is cool, but they're younger and able to tour more often. I would hate to miss out on a chance to see U2 (never seen em) when they may be retiring soon.

Could people stop telling me to not see either band. See a good band etc. If your not into either band thats fine but if your not going to help don't post in this thread.

The one thing I would say is that you are likely to have a lot more opertunities to see Muse. I would try and see U2 before they disband or all become old men.

I'm surprised that they would play the same place on the same day. I would have thought that there was a fairly large joint fanbase. I mean, U2 (well... the Edge) even played with Muse at Glastonbury this year.

Also, I'm not the biggest fan of Muse. I don't think that they have any concept of subtlety or restraint. While I would be curious to see them live, but I don't think they are all that on record. I have heard that the Flaming Lips are just as good live, and imo, their music is a lot better.

While I'm not really a fan of either, I'd definatly go to see Muse as Matt's a lunatic while Bono is a twat.

They used the same line up as the Vertigo tour?....Hmm... If it were me I'd see Muse but that's 'cause I haven't been to one of their shows yet.
