love it or hate it?

I can find no good music to think of that was created after 1996, nothing remotely memorable, except for Rammstein, who continues to pump out the good shit.

I found plenty of good music that has been made after 1996. I list some of the bands I like, and maybe you'll find something that interests you.

Nightwish, Lights, Tarot, 3 Doors Down

Yes, i love it, but i love music created all the time.

Every time has some sort of Masterpice, now i cant think of one right now, but i cant tihnk of one prior to 1996 anyways.

Music is Music, some is good, some is bad, there is always that. Your argument is invaled... If you actually had an argument...

Nothing to think of with bands who have origins in the last 15 years, but there is a lot of good stuff from classic bands - I definitely have a head banging moment for the new priest album Nostradamus, AC/DC's new album is more of the same (if you're into that kind of thing).

There's good stuff out there, just nothing from new bands to speak of (again, depending on your style and taste).

I'm sorry, but WHAT!?!?!?!?
How bout music after 1724, was that all good music? Or all shitty music? Take your pick. Really, it doesn't matter. There is music. Whether it is "good or bad" is entirely up to personal choice.

And, if you can find no music made after 1996[arbitrary date] that you like, you might not be looking hard enough.

Almost all of my favorite albums are post-96.

-I like Porcupine Tree's earlier production, but I just love all of their albums from In Absentia (2002) onwards.

-Pretty much the same for Opeth, I like all of the albums they made from Blackwater Park (2001) onwards.

-Well, the other of my two favourite CD's by Dream Theater was released in -92 (Images and Words, the other favourite being Metropolis pt.2), but they made good songs/albums after 96, too.

Though I think their latest two albums are horrible.

I'd say good music is still made.

I laugh at this statement, Rammstein is fucking awful.

Most of my music is after 1996, and it's good shit.
Its all a matter of Opinion.

Er... it's kind of gray. Some of it sucks, some of it's really good. For the most part, there's a bit of a decline, but there are occasional peaks where something really awesome appears. Overall, I don't think it's time to lose all hope for music. Not yet.

Mostly bad, but every SOAD album has been released after 1996 so there is some extreamely good stuff to.

Haha, I see what you did there.

Music is subjective, so really saying there's no good music after 19XD is a matter of personal taste.
I think generally speaking most people like what they listened to in high school and maybe college and then they stop caring that much about it. I know most of the stuff on my iTunes is from 1990-2004.

I'm sure a lot of people born in the 70's probably think the 1980's had the best music and anything after is shit.

You do remember that the 1990's had every boy band ever, Hanson, and other such bands right?

No, the expiration date for music was on January 1, 1997. Everything has been crap ever since then. I really miss the Spice Girls.

95% of the music I listen to that isn't classical music, and thus probably from several centuries ago, was released after 1996. The notion that "good" modern music doesn't exist is misguided and frankly rather silly. Where that sentiment might have some bearing is if you append "well known" or "popular" to it - the music aimed at the general populace is, for the most part, pretty much crap, saying that isn't even remotely controversial.

But if you're laboring under the belief that all modern music can be defined by the crappy stuff you hear on the radio, what that says about you is you're too lazy to go looking for those rare gems and have settled for blanket assumptions that make music snobs like me laugh at you.

Also music in the 90s was, as a general rule, awful (though I would take 90s boy-bands over what passes for pop these days in a heartbeat, which says a lot about how terrible modern pop is).
