Where is the 'None' option? Every music has a meaning and a place.

Also, why have you portrayed all that music in a bad way, and I don't see an option for rock music? This poll seems a bit bias to me...
I see what you mean, metal is covered and hipster rock but not classic and the other sub-genres of rock.

Metal has to be my answer. I've tried it, but I cant find anything more then deliberately out of time instruments with screaming. If I wanted that, I'd have a kid and give her a piano.
I think that you'll find it depends entirely on the type of metal you listen to. I mean Black Sabbath is considered metal and they weren't out of time or screaming etc.

I can't think to destroy a music genre, even bad ones.

Because how than are you to look down on them with superiority while they squirm with their inferiority?

I mean, ants gives us a perspective of how big, and the earth gives us a perspective of how small we are.

Above all, this:
I have no idea what genre that's supposed to be, but good gods erase it from history.
What in the hell was that? It sounded like a lame "in da club" kind of song except they stuck the smoker from L4D in there. They combined the worst elements of heavy metal and dance; really really pointless screaming and a dull beat with repetitive and chauvinistic lyrics.

Also I voted metal because in case you can't tell I have almost no appreciation or understanding of it. At least some dance music is catchy and gets you moving. Anyway sometimes the guitar playing in those metal bands is really good and I find myself kind've getting into it and then "BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGHHHH".

rap and hip hop need to go since they aren't really music in the end but just some dude ripping off good music as samples then talking over it half the time, what talent
Actually you missed the boat there by about 25 years. Very few rappers sample these days, blatant sampling isn't really in fashion right now.
No he is right, they are still doing sampling in rap and hip hop and always will, it's part of the genre though may not be done as much as before
The sampling that's done now is very different to what came before. With changes to copyright laws and a flood of lawsuits in the early 90s, the early "collage" style sampling works have fallen by the wayside. Sampling still exists but it's more subtle, a lot of the times the artists are sampling themselves playing instruments rather than someone else's recording (putting the hoary old "they're just thieves with no musical talent" complaint out to pasture), or very small unidentifiable snippets are used as triggers and being "played" via a MIDI keyboard or somesuch like a regular instrument. Or, they're getting permission - but that's rare because of what it does to royalties. The era of massive amounts of music sampling in rap music is over, and will probably never return, for legal and copyright reasons alone.

The exception is rap records sampling the vocals of other rap records for a chorus, that's still really common and most rappers have a kind of gentleman's agreement to turn a blind eye to this kind of thing seeing as how so many of them do it - it's almost considered a way of paying tribute. But that agreement strictly covers lyrical content only, not musical content. Rip off a line and they don't care but snatch a beat and their heads spin around like Linda Blair's.

Oh and on a not-related point, I love how Brokencyde gets in every thread like this. They should pay The Escapist advertising money given all the promotion you guys give them.

I guess none of the above because we need horrible music to make the good songs good, to drive artists to improve.

One other thing. You can tell what a good song is by it's riff or melody, not by it's lyrics. Of course it is a big contributing factor but not nearly as important as the riff and melody.

Except ICP. FUCK THE INSANE CLOWN POSSE. THEY NEED TO BE DRAGGED OUT INTO THE STREET AND BEATEN WITH AN OAR!

/rant.
Can I use the double chainsaw oar?

I figure since they look like bad zombie rip-offs and have the mental capacity of the recently deceased, I'd say anti-zombie weapons would work great on on them.

OT: While I will admit that I hate all of the above, I really don't think any particular group is dangerous enough to kill off. The only exception to this is gansta-rap that seems content to support racial stereotype and a parasitic life of mindless decadence. In all honesty, BET and the Rap industry are probably more dangerous to the credibility and image of the African American community than the few remaining racists.

Shrill, inappropriately sexual bubblegum tween pop

Not because I don't like it (that's just coincidental). It's just weird having my 12 year old sister singing stuff like;

"Call me Mr Flintstone
I can make you bed rock"

when she has no idea what it means.

I say the first option, but not necessarily because the music is bad (I mean, as described here, ALL the music is bad in some way). No music should be eliminated simply because some people don't like it. No, that stuff has to go because it's used to manipulate children into making their parents buy this stuff. As the Arrogant Worms say in their song "Boy Band," "We're a product of market research." It's all rampant consumerism with no concern for music or integrity.

At least the achingly insincere frat boy songs are only being used to manipulate adults who can make their own decisions. And usually the music is better, even if the words are stupid.

Oh, additionally:

Yeah - where's the option for "Four chord samey bland rock"? I can think of a dozen bands that fit that category (and sadly they're all on my girlfriends iPod).

Iron Maiden/Black Sabbath/Judas Priest/Led Zeppelin.

Most metal isn't screaming. Well actually I have no idea, I don't listen to screamo music.

"Overproduced boring-ass "dance" music consisting of three notes played over and over."

And if that doesn't work, just kill Pop altogether. Everything else is fine.

Probably rap because I hate the bass that comes through the car windows of SOME PEOPLE.

It sounds like someone's epic farting
