Well, that's past tense, on the Boycott.

I'll give you this to save you from rants, and it'll give you an idea roughly of some of the dislike we had.

Hope that helps a bit.

I bought it a few days after release. I've played it a lot, considering I can only connect to xbox live at a friend's house using those free 48 hour subscription cards. I loved it. The multiplayer is fan-fucking-tastic, but the campaign is, admittedly, not as good as the one in COD 4, although it was still pretty awesome.

Good to hear you enjoyed it :D

I think I should probably make a note for the people not in the know, the Boycott was primarily done by PC Gamers, as we [sub]Once again[/sub] were shat on from above.

I got it, played around with it for a bit and then traded it for... Borderlands? Dragon Age? Which one was released after Modern Warfare 2?

I haven't bought it, and I haven't thought of buying it.

It sold well because of a mix of name recognition and controversy, in my opinion.

My stepdad bought it when he got his 360.

Wait, why are people boycotting it?
People were boycotting it

This sums up quite nicely and concisely.

I personally will not touch the game unless it is preowned and less than a 10euro I don't even think the game is worth even that much to me after how they butchered the norm for PC games taking out so many features.

That is...one of the funnier things I've seen today and it perfectly illustrates why a lot of us are a bit riled up over all of this. Perhaps boycotting a game like this is an exercise in futility but you know what? The only thing I can control is who does and doesn't get my money and I say fucking Activision isn't getting a cent of it for a new copy of this.

Uh...

I'm pretty sure it was Dragon Age.

Nope. And now BFBC2 is coming out in less than 2 weeks and I'm glad I didn't waste 60 bux. BFBC2 and Fallout: New Vegas will probably be my only game purchases this year. Wont be the only games I play, just the only ones I purchase. : )

I didn't buy it - I received it as a gift (yesterday, in fact!). Since I have a PS3, most of these problems people are complaining about don't apply to me, so I look forward to playing it. However, I still have 4 other games waiting to be completed, so when I'll actually play it remains to be seen.

I bought it on PC. I played its multiplayer mode. It was alright. Ok, so it's a tad annoying, but it's not absolutely damning.

But then, I would say that. I'm one of them. They've taken me.

Never boycotted it, although I didn't at the time think that no dedicated servers was THAT big of a deal. Boy was I ever wrong....

Didn't buy, never itnerested me. Looked like another boring FPS title, just like the rest of the series, and most other FPS titles not named Serious Sam, Duke Nukem or Painkiller.

I stuck with it. I played it at my friend's house to do the airport mission, and the controls seemed terribly sluggish... I also watched another friend play multiplayer on an airport mission and I swear they should have had Yakety Sax playing. It's just run around, stab stab, grenade, shoot, run like an idiot, die, repeat, yay, cool, I'm not adhd at all, stab, run.

I was pissed about the treatment of PC gamers, so i bought a pre-owned copy for my 360. Seeing as publishers don't get a single cent from pre-owned sales, it's a nice little way to own a game legally while still saying a big FUCK YOU.

Edit: Oh yeah, and it was WAY overrated. I've been a fan of CoD from day one, but MW2 was a major disappointment for me.
