Poll: MW2: care package knifing

This is called "an exploit" - because this is what you do. Exploit game mechanics to get an upper hand, instead of relying on out-skilling or out-smarting your opponent.

Surely it is out-smarting your opponent?

Outsmarting someone involves utilizing strategy. Not exploiting something that some idiot decided was a good idea to put in the game.

Its not that terrible.

Now my Spas 12-handgrip-fmj-steady aim pro-stopping power on the other hand, balances the care package exploit quite nicely.

Your talking about cheap-ness, in a spray happy game where you can slap on a few cheap perks to get kills you don't deserve, and camp and get rewarded with airstrikes etc which can get your kills for you?

Stop complaining and play a better game.

So your telling me that IW fixed THIS instead of the gayteen87? (I know they already tried to make it less nooby, but it didnt work) Yea cuz not like that is ruining the game...

Nope, they're also fixed. The issue with the post nerf 1887's was that when used with blingPro and FMJ-Akimbo they had the original range still, but that's now been sorted out.

All that needs fixing in terms of guns are the G18's and LOLtubes now.

I can understand the tube, but by "fix" the g18 you mean make it better right?

It's not a glitch if it was implemented into the game. Someone just managed to outsmart the other players by exploiting this. Although, I got a good feeling that if enough people complain Infinity Ward may do something about it.

it's not a glitch, it's an exploit. I think it's clear IW didn't intend the care package to be used this way. same goes for the knife, you're supposed to use it when you bump into someone around a corner or something, not pick all the perks that make you faster and run around like an idiot stabbing everyone. that's just ruining the game...

I think that what breaks the care package thing is less the speed increase and more the sprinting while crouched thing. That's just ridiculous.

Is it annoying...yes but that's why you do things to counter that.

Useing a shotgun and claymores in close quarters or defending a postion. Communicating with your teammates (if you play in a mode with one) if see someone doing this you can give someone the heads up that can make or break a game. A good UAV or even a heartbeat sensor and help you out alot. Also I noticed a few of these "sprint knifers" I call them love to use the scrambler perk to cancel out radar for that sneaky effect. Just keep you eye on your radar if it starts to get fizzy and no one of your team is near by put your back against a wall and defend yourself!

Heh, I guess you've not run into too many akimbo g18's then.

Ahhh those wonderful Fail-Cannons, I stopped using them when I worked out that a single G18 is practically an assault rifle if you use it right.

OT: I can live with care-packagers but Commando is where I draw the line, I mean they come at you like a missile and then fly across the room and stab you in the chest for an insta-kill, though it is amusing when they miss and get an entire clip in the face...

OT: To be honest, I haven't found it much of a problem. It's good that it's been fixed, but I never really noticed it.

Its not an exploit, the care package marker is the lightest object your character can hold. You run faster while holding a pistol than running with a machinegun. Therefore a small canister of smoke should make you run faster because it is lighter than a pistol.

Well they patched it out of the pc version so it must have been unfair

I think that this is kind of unfair. and why did people say stuff about the 1887s? their not that bad, all you need is range, like with any other shotgun.

I prefer the Rafficca myself, it's like a mini M16 with almost as much power, TMP can be half decent as well although it's somewhat gimped by it's tiny mag.
